It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means!

We open with the intro and a quick rundown of what’s to come, before Will Ospreay’s music hits to signal his arrival to ringside for our opening match. Out next is Buddy Matthews, heading down the ramp as we get a look back at Full Gear. With that, the bell rings and this match is underway!

Buddy Matthews vs. Will Ospreay

The two men go at it, neither quite giving an inch until Matthews gets Ospreay in the corner for a chop…only for Will to respond in kind. Matthews stops himself at the ropes, catching Ospreay to send him to the floor…but Ospreay is right back in it, sending Buddy to the outside with a headscissors before connecting with a dive to the floor!

Matthews is back in the ring now as Ospreay goes up top, but Matthews evades danger before hitting a running knee drop for a nearfall. He follows up with a chinlock, as Ospreay starts fighting back to his feet before hitting the ropes…but the two end up connecting with a double cross body, sending them both to the floor.

The ref begins the count as both men slowly get to a standing position, trading strikes until Ospreay hits the ropes for a spin kick sending Buddy to the corner. Matthews intercepts him at the turnbuckle, but Will hits back with a flying forearm and the cover for a two count. Matthews sends Ospreay to the outside, hitting the ropes for a dive that sends the Aerial Assassin into the announce desk before sending him back into the ring for a Meteora…but it’s only good for a nearfall as Ospreay kicks out!

The action ends up on the apron as the two trade strikes, before Matthews blocks an Oscutter to send Will flying onto the announce desk. Ospreay falls to the floor as Buddy steps off the apron, pulling his opponent up to prop him against the barricade…before charging at him for a running knee! Matthews gets in the ring to break the count, running back out after Ospreay…who leaps onto the barricade for an Oscutter, sending Matthews onto the floor! Both men are on the floor as the ref begins the count, with Ospreay making it back in the ring before Matthews…and hits a missile dropkick as Buddy gets back in!

Oscutter off the ropes lets Ospreay make the cover for a two count, but Matthews dodges a Hidden Blade…only to be caught with another attempt by the Aerial Assassin! Cover by Ospreay, but Matthew manages to kick out once more. Ospreay looking for a Storm Breaker but Matthews fights out, laying him out with a stomp for the cover…but this time it’s Ospreay who kicks out! Ospreay fights back now, hitting a Styles Clash…but it’s only good for a nearfall, as Matthews kicks out. Ospreay heads to the corner, catching Buddy with one final Hidden Blade to pick up the win!

Winner via pinfall: Will Ospreay

After the match, Will gets a microphone as he gives respect to Buddy Matthews for a hard-fought match. He says that Buddy and Brody are very tough competitors who don’t need to be following anyone, adding that Matthews could chase tag or even singles gold. He hopes this isn’t the last time they meet, but if Buddy ever needs a man in his corner, Will is his guy.

The pair shake hands before Ospreay leaves the ring, as we cut to a video package showcasing AEW talent in Japan for Wrestle Dynasty.

Back at ringside, Private Party make their way to the stage to celebrate retaining the tag titles on Collision. They say this calls for a celebration, but are interrupted by the Hurt Syndicate. MVP wants the Syndicate to join in their celebration, raising a toast to the tag champs…with Bobby saying this is for the Hurt Syndicate taking those tag team titles.

With that, their music hits again as Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring for our next match. Out next is Mark Briscoe, heading down the ramp before this match gets underway!

Bobby Lashley vs. Mark Briscoe

The two circle the mat before Lashley backs Briscoe up into the corner…and mockingly pats his head before stepping back. Briscoe none too pleased by the move as he tries to mount some offense on Lashley…who sends the former ROH World Champion into the corner before dropping him with a neckbreaker.

Lashley brings Briscoe to his feet for a Dominator, but Mark manages to kick out to stay in the match. He heads to the corner looking for the drop on Bobby, who sends Briscoe to the outside before diving through the ropes to send him to the floor. Lashley follows with an exploder suplex to keep Briscoe down, stepping back into the ring as the Max feed goes to an ad break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, Briscoe is in the ring as he starts to fight back, but Lashley sends him right back to the floor. He goes after the former ROH World Champion, but Briscoe catches him by surprise before setting up a chair in the ring for a dive sending the bigger man to the floor. The ref begins the count as Briscoe continues to fight back, bringing Lashley back into the ring before climbing up top for a Froggy Bow! Cover by Briscoe…and Lashley powers out of the pin entirely!

Lashley is back in control now, dropping Briscoe with a spear and Dominator before cinching in the Hurt Lock. Briscoe is fading fast, and he’s out as the ref calls for the bell!

Winner via submission: Bobby Lashley

Lashley holds onto it a little longer before letting go, with MVP raising his arm in victory…but Lashley and Shelton go back on the attack! Private Party come running down the ramp with chairs in hand to make the save. The Hurt Syndicate reluctantly leave the ring, with the champs’ music playing as we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

Back at ringside, it’s time for the Casino Gauntlet Match to determine a new #1 contender for the AEW World Championship! Out first is Jay White, and the man he faces to kick off the Gauntlet is…Hangman Adam Page! Page makes his way down the ramp, and this Casino Gauntlet Match gets underway!

AEW World Championship #1 Contenders Match: Casino Gauntlet

The two men start arguing with each other over the Worlds End situation before trading strikes. Page gets the advantage here for a nearfall, before the two escape each other’s signature maneuvers. The action heads to the corner, where White catches Page with a superplex as the countdown begins…and our next participant is Wheeler Yuta!

White sends Page out of the ring as Yuta heads through the crowd to ringside…but upon entering the ring, Yuta gets hit with a Blade Runner! Jay White with the cover, but Page breaks it up to save the match for himself. Yuta is sent out of the ring as Page turns his rage back toward Jay, sending the Switchblade to the corner for a clothesline. White manages to escape his grasp, fending off Wheeler before Page sends him to the floor with a forearm as the countdown begins…”WHOSE HOUSE?”

But no, it’s not Swerve Strickland…our next participant is Ricochet! Page starts to come down from the bubbling rage inside as Yuta sends him out of the ring, only to be fought off by Ricochet who enters the ring. Page gets back in the ring, but is taken to the mat by a cross body from Ricochet who gets a nearfall before we go to break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, we see Page and White sending Ricochet and Yuta back out of the ring as the countdown starts back up…revealing our next participant as Adam Cole (bay bay)! Cole is quick to the ring, fending off Page and White right away before Yuta and Ricochet face his wrath as well. Cole goes up for a Panama Sunrise on Ricochet, but it’s only good for a two count as the countdown gives us our next man…Daniel Garcia!

Garcia makes a beeline for the ring, where he and Cole go at it until Daniel connects with a suplex. He sends Cole to the corner for some punches, with White and Page being thrown into the mix when they try to intervene. Yuta enters the ring as he and Garcia stare each other down, leading to an exchange of strikes before Yuta lays Garcia out. Ricochet enters the ring to join in the beatdown, as he and Wheeler send the TNT Champion out of the ring before the countdown gives us our next participant…Powerhouse Hobbs!

Hobbs runs down to the ring, sending Ricochet flying over the rope to the outside before going to work on Yuta…and then Jay White. Page lays into the Powerhouse before mocking him, and this leads to Hobbs catching him from the corner for a T-bone suplex that drops the Hangman to the canvas as we go to our next ad break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, Ricochet gets turned head over heels with a clothesline from Hobbs before the Powerhouse drops Jay with a body slam. “Meat” chants fires up Hobbs to charge at White in the corner, but the Switchblade narrowly evades him as the countdown reveals…Roderick Strong!

Strong hits White with a backbreaker, followed by one for Page before Ricochet overwhelms him. Garcia and Cole go after Ricochet, before Strong joins in a 3-on-1 beatdown of Ricochet in the corner. This gets broken up before Strong hits a running kick on Hobbs. Ricochet fights off Page but is dropped by White, only for Yuta to stop a Blade Runner attempt as the countdown reveals…Lance Archer!

“Everybody Dies” sounds less like a threat and more like a promise as Archer heads to the ring, clearing the ring before dropping Ricochet to the canvas. Ricochet rolls away, only to be picked up and tossed by Hobbs toward the Murderhawk Monster. Archer responds in kind before hitting the ropes, only for Hobbs to hit a power slam…but Lance is back up! The two trade strikes as the countdown revealing…Kyle O’Reilly!

Kyle takes out Yuta on his way to the ring, entering the fray to help Strong take out Hobbs with a high-low as the countdown reveals…Jeff Jarrett!

But the Last Outlaw is blindsided by Wheeler Yuta, who takes him toward backstage as we focus back on the ring. Archer clears the ring before setting up Hobbs on the turnbuckle for the Blackout…but the Powerhouse escapes, sending Lance to the outside. O’Reilly is back in the ring for a set of kicks on Hobbs…who drops Kyle hard to the mat for the pin and the win!

Winner (and new #1 Contender to the World Title): Powerhouse Hobbs

Renee steps into the ring after the match to interview the #1 contender, who faces Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship next week at Maximum Carnage. Hobbs says he wants to “shoot” for a second, acknowledging that Mox was the one who brought him to AEW…but next week, he’s going to shock the world and win the AEW World Championship (and something else I can’t quite put in this recap, haha).

Hobbs celebrates before heading up the ramp, shaking hands with Jarrett who has finally managed to make it back to ringside. He heads down the ramp as he appears to have something to say next.

Video Package: Things between Christian Cage and HOOK come to a head next week at Maximum Carnage Dynamite!

Back at ringside, Jeff is joined by Ian Riccaboni to address what’s next for the Last Outlaw. He says he has had to ask himself if he still has what it takes…but Jarrett is interrupted by the arrival of MJF. Friedman gets into the ring, telling Ian to leave before introducing himself to Jarrett. He talks about the World Title scene before running Jeff down for not being able to be involved in tonight’s Casino Gauntlet.

He talks about wanting to get after his BBB, hyping up Jarrett’s accomplishments before reminding him that the clock is ticking. MJF reveals a detail that Jarrett wanted to avoid sharing, noting that the contract he signed is only good for one more year…and that is because professional wrestling only wants him around that long.

He says Jarrett only has one more year to prove he’s still got it, offering to help him out…since without him, Jarrett couldn’t even win a match. MJF wants one thing in return: when Jeff wins the BBB, MJF wants the first shot at it. He extends a hand to shake on it, before Jeff responds by acknowledging MJF was the longest-reigning World Champion…but his failures have outweighed his success. You know what we call people like MJF around here? One-hit wonders.

The crowd chants in kind as Jarrett continues, saying he knows the road he has to go down. He’s been at rock bottom, but he is comfortable there. He knows that it means he can scratch and claw his way back to the top. MJF had his chance to enter the Casino Gauntlet but chose to scheme and connive. Jarrett ultimately says he’s not buying what MJF is selling, refusing the help of an entitled prick as the Last Outlaw leaves the ring. He heads up the ramp, MJF staring him down from the ring as we go to ad break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, we are reminded of the Death Riders attacking Darby Allin to close out the final episode of Rampage. The update is that no one has heard from Darby since, as we head back to ringside for the arrival of Adam Copeland…I mean, Cope.

We get a look back at Collision as Cope heads to the ring, microphone in hand. Cope addresses what Moxley did to Darby to close out 2024, as well as the Death Riders coming after FTR which he calls a massive mistake. He then brings up Mox’s remarks about the guys in AEW not having what it takes to handle the grind, stating that no one has fought as much as Cope has in this ring.

He is a different animal entirely, a man that broke his neck in a match with Eddie Guerrero…and he got up, wrestled another 20 minutes, and beat Eddie Guerrero. When he broke his leg in the match against Malakai Black, he got up and wrestled another 10 minutes to beat Malakai Black. He asks Mox what the World Champion can do to Cope that hasn’t been done before…and we may find out the answer as Mox’s music hits.

Mox, Claudio, and Yuta are seen coming through the crowd, Cope staring the trio down as the Death Riders sans PAC and Marina head toward ringside…only for FTR to blindside them! The brawl continues until we see Cope and Mox in the ring, with the Rated R Superstar looking to lay out the champ until Marina comes running down. Cope stops her from an attack, which opens him up to a sneak attack by PAC with the briefcase containing the World Title. The rest of the group joins in to go after Cope, laying into him before pulling out a plastic bag…but here comes Powerhouse Hobbs!

The #1 contender heads to the ring, forcing the Death Riders to make their escape as they stare down the man facing Mox next week for the title as we go to ad break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, we hear from Mariah May who encourages the women in next week’s Casino Gauntlet to dance like the marionettes they are, before she beats whoever wins the #1 contendership. This brings out Harley Cameron, who challenges May to a non-title match that May accepts, offering “Hot Girl Graps” at Collision.

Back at ringside, Toni Storm makes her way out to the ring for our next match. This is followed by Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale, and this match gets underway!

3-Way Match for the #1 Spot in Women’s Gauntlet at Maximum Carnage Dynamite: Willow Nightingale vs. Toni Storm vs. Kris Statlander

The three women go at it quick to start off, each getting a nearfall before Storm gets sent out of the ring. This allows former rivals Willow and Kris to go at it, with Willow getting a nearfall before Toni comes back in. Nightingale sends her back out before Kris catches her with a slam for a nearfall of her own, with Storm looking for her opening.

She climbs up the turnbuckle for a double cross body, sending Kris and Willow down. Statlander stops an attempt at a sunset flip…but before we can get an Aloha Kris, Willow catapults Storm into a very precarious spot for Statlander just as we go to ad break!

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, Toni has the advantage as she goes up top for another cross body…but this time she gets sent down by Statlander and Nightingale! Kris goes after Willow before Toni intervenes, which leads to Statlander going after the former Women’s World Champion. Willow gets back into it, until all three women end up down on the canvas. Kris and Toni are up, with Statlander sending Storm into the corner…only to be taken out with a pounce by Willow! Toni goes after Nightingale, before being sent into the corner for a running cannonball by Willow. She picks up Toni for a Death Valley Driver, before Storm fights back to send her away…and counters out of the grasp of an approaching Statlander.

Willow is back up, grabbing Statlander in a waistlock. Kris grabs Toni to try and stop it, but this ends up in a double German suplex sending Storm and Kris to the mat! Storm tries to fight back out of this as Willow is knocked away, but she gets caught with Staturday Night Fever which gets Kris Statlander the victory and the #1 spot next week!

Winner via pinfall (and #1 in next week’s Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match): Kris Statlander

We are reminded that we will see Kenny Omega up next before going to ad break.

-Commercial Break-

Backstage, we hear from Toni Storm who is disappointed from losing tonight but still trying to look forward to the Women’s Casino Gauntlet next week.

We head back to ringside, where Kenny Omega makes his grand return after appearing at Worlds End. The crowd is very happy to see the Best Bout Machine back, showing their appreciation as Omega heads down the ramp toward the ring. He gets a microphone from ringside as the crowd chant for Kenny.

He is nearly taken aback by the response before thanking the crowd. The chants start back up, before Kenny addresses checking himself into the hospital and finding out he had something called diverticulitis. He reminds the fans what he went through to deal, including the surgery and the recovery time. He asked the doctor how long he had to recover, and when he could wrestle again…and the doctor said he’d be lucky to get back to a normal way of life, let alone getting back into the ring.

Omega had to ask himself if it was worth all the trouble, and at one time he thought giving up was the safest option…but the moment he thought that, he felt there was no purpose without wrestling, without these fans. A few days ago he put himself to the test, finding his purpose again by wrestling in Japan.

He says that even if he cannot do all the things he used to, this version of Kenny Omega does not care about money or power. Before he can go any further, Omega is interrupted by the arrival of Don Callis. Callis starts to remark on Omega being “back from the dead” before Omega rushes out of the ring, going after Callis up the ramp. He’s intercepted by the Don Callis Family as they bring him back to the ring.

The beatdown culminates in Fletcher and Archer propping Omega up for Cage to lay in a punch right in his abdomen, targeting the area that went under surgery…but before they can go any further, Will Ospreay comes down with a chair for the save! Cage tries to catch him by surprise on the ramp but is met with a chair to the gut by Ospreay, who fends off the rest of the Family in the ring. He drops the chair when Omega turns around, the two staring each other down as commentary runs down the card for next week…including Kenny Omega’s AEW in-ring return as he faces Brian Cage!

Back in the ring, we see Ospreay take his leave as Kenny sets the chair up in the ring. Ospreay continues up the ramp as the crowd shows more appreciation for Omega (who looks to still have something to say) as Dynamite comes to a close.
