Nikki Garcia (Bella) asks for privacy after her husband’s arrest for domestic battery

One day after Nikki Garcia’s (Bella) husband Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested for domestic violence in Napa County, Nikki Bella, is now asking for privacy. 

Per a report from Fox News Digital, on Friday, a representative for the WWE Hall of Famer told the publication – “This is a private matter, and Nikki asks for privacy for her and her family at this time.”

On Thursday, Chigvintsev was arrested at approximately 9:40 am local time, in violation of California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC, also known as domestic violence or corporal injury to a spouse, former spouse, cohabitant, former cohabitant, or the mother or father of his or her child, according to records viewed by Fox News Digital. 

Fox News confirmed previous reports that Chigvintsev was booked at 10:40 am PT on Thursday and then released the same day at 2:18 pm PT. Fox News added that he was released on $25,000 bail. 

It is still unclear if Nikki was involved in the incident.

Napa County Sheriff’s Public Information Office Henry Wofford said the following in a statement to E! News:

When someone is charged with felony domestic violence, usually this means there is a visible injury or credible eyewitness…our deputies felt comfortable arresting him on felony domestic violence charges.”

Wofford also noted to E! News, that certain details of the case, including the victim’s name, are not being shared due to laws protecting the privacy of victims of domestic violence. He did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. 

Fox News Digital further notes they have learned that there were no plans for Chigvintsev to be part of Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars,” which premieres next month on ABC.
