It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means!
We kick off the show with a look back at the AEW World Championship match from All In, which saw Bryan Danielson win the title from Swerve Strickland. He will address his wrestling future later tonight as we go down the card for what’s to come tonight, including the Dynamite in-ring debut of Ricochet as he faces Kyle Fletcher.
Some new(ish?) music hits the State Farm Center as Jon Moxley makes his way out through the crowd, a bit of a changed look about him as he slowly heads toward ringside. Tony Schiavone gets a microphone before heading to the ring as well, looking to get a word from the former AEW World Champion who enters the ring to a big reaction from the crowd.
Tony enters the ring, addressing that we haven’t seen Mox since Forbidden Door when he lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Mox says he’s been doing a lot of thinking since that night, stating that he’s been looking for a man who isn’t here tonight with a conversation that is long overdue. He calls out Darby Allin, saying that Mox will not be hard to find. He starts to leave the ring as Tony talks up what else is happening…but Mox interrupts, saying it’ll take some time for everyone to wrap this around their heads, but we can start tonight. He then points at Schiavone as he says this is “not your company anymore,” leaving Tony confused as he makes his way back out through the crowd.
We head backstage as Renee talks to The Conglomeration, as Mark Briscoe hypes up the matches they have coming up before congratulating HOOK on winning the FTW Championship back. We then here from Willow Nightingale who reveals she wants the CMLL Women’s Championship on the line in a Chicago Street Fight at All Out! With that, the majority of the group leaves as we head back to ringside.
Back at ringside, Hangman Page makes his way to the ring for our opening contest. Out next is Tomohiro Ishii, and this match is underway!
Hangman Page vs. Tomohiro Ishii
The match kicks off with both men trading strikes, namely chops, all in an effort to see who can wear the other down. Page starts to get the upper hand until he’s sent to the corner as Ishii begins to turn things around while we go to picture-in-picture.
Picture-in-Picture: Page manages to get back in control throughout the break, sending Ishii to the ropes as he continues to physically vent his frustrations stemming from All In as we return from break!
The action spills to the apron here, where Page catches Tomohiro with a big DDT driving the Stone Pitbull’s head into the hardest part of the ring before he drops to the floor. Hangman brings him back into the ring for a cover, but Ishii manages to kick out. Page drops him again, but still only gets a nearfall for his efforts, before transitioning to a submission hold until Tomohiro forces a rope break.
Ishii makes it back to his feet as Hangman goes after him, only to be taken down to the mat with a back suplex that gets the Stone Pitbull a nearfall. He sends Page to the corner, laying in some strikes before sending him across the ring to the opposite corner to set up a superplex. Hangman starts to fight him off, but the Stone Pitbull manages to drop him with what can best be described as an avalanche brainbuster to get the cover…but Page manages to kick out!
Both men on their feet after a piledriver attempt, and both look poised to strike with a lariat…leading to both men falling to the canvas as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: Page and Ishii slowly get to their feet before trading strikes, with Hangman taking Tomohiro down for a crossface that Ishii struggles to fight out of before finally managing to get a foot on the rope! Page gets back to his feet, as the TNT inexplicably cuts to a brief commercial break (apparently to finish the last ad, lol).
-Commercial Break-
Ishii fights back before hitting the ropes, but Page turns it around with a Dead Eye attempt. Ishii escapes looking for a suplex, but Hangman gets one on him instead! Ishii manages to get back up, fighting off Page with some strikes before hitting the ropes for a big lariat and the cover…but Hangman kicks out once again!
Page back on his feet with a boot to the face of Ishii, who fights back with a pair of right hands. Hangman replies in kind with a discus lariat, but Tomohiro is back on his feet as the two men collide looking to see who can be knocked off their feet. Page is the eventual winner of this exchange, before connecting with a Dead Eye followed by the Buckshot Lariat to pick up the win tonight!

No time for celebration, however, as Swerve Strickland makes his way out to the ring to confront the man who got involved in the main event of All In on Sunday. He makes a beeline for the ring, going nose to nose with Hangman as the two stare each other down. Swerve has a microphone in hand, telling Page he should beat him into a bloody mess after what he did on Sunday…but instead, he’s here to look him in the eye and tell him what a failure he is.
He says Hangman’s become a petulant child, failing over and over again. Swerve may not have gold around his waist but he will always been known as a World Champion, and everyone will know whose house this is. Page grabs the mic, saying Swerve is not a champion before pointing out that Swerve has never beaten him on his own.
The first time saw help from Prince Nana, the second from Nana and Brian Cage, and the third time he couldn’t beat him in 30 minutes. He wants to lock everyone else out, to which Swerve seems to accept the challenge calling for a steel cage match at All Out!
Swerve asks Hangman what kind of man he is, looking back to when Page gave up in the middle of the ring all those months ago. He talks about Page helping his wife out backstage, helping her into the car before driving off to become a father for the second time. That was the kind of man Page was supposed to be, but Swerve’s focus was on winning the AEW World Championship. He’s done this, and mark his words, he will do it again…but Page? He’s so focused on Strickland that he couldn’t win the Owen, couldn’t win the Casino Gauntlet, and couldn’t help his team win at Blood & Guts.
He asks Page again, what kind of man will he be at All Out? Better yet, what kind of man is he going to show up as? This angers Page beyond words as he just leaves the ring, storming up the ramp as Swerve stares him down some more before we go to commercial break.
-Commercial Break-
Back at ringside, Jamie Hayter makes her way out to the ring for our next match as we get a look back at what led to her having to take time off since Double Or Nothing 2023. Hayter enters the ring as Harley Cameron makes her way out next, accompanied by Saraya as she gets into the ring before this match gets underway!

Harley goes on the attack early on, sending Hayter into the corner…but Jamie turns it around with a set of stomps. Cameron manages to fight back as she escapes Hayter’s grip, sending her into the corner once more before taking to the ropes for a DDT…but Jamie breaks free, sending Harley out of the ring instead! Saraya checks on her friend as Hayter leaves the ring, with Saraya sending Harley back into the ring before stepping away.
Harley starts fighting back as she looks for a Sole Food, but Hayter blocks it before connecting with a couple backbreakers. Hayter brings Cameron back to her feet, connecting with a Hayterade to pick up the win in her AEW return!

Saraya goes into the ring to check on Cameron before using her as a human shield against Hayter, sending Harley into Jamie before escaping through the crowd.
Backstage, we hear from The Learning Tree and Roderick Strong ahead of their All-Star Eight-Man Tag Match later tonight. Big Bill addresses the fan reaction on Sunday before Jericho is asked about losing the FTW title on Sunday. Jericho says hi to the fans before talking about a “hard-fought” match and admitting that HOOK is the champion once again…but only because he took on the advice of the Learning Tree.
Strong then talks about Orange Cassidy being bad news, to which Jericho agrees as Cassidy still owes him $7000 for a ruined jacket, and he plans on making all four of their opponents tonight pay the price!
-Commercial Break-
We get a look back at the All In match between MJF and Will Ospreay, before heading back to ringside where MJF makes his way to the ring looking distraught after losing his title. He enters the ring with microphone in hand, demanding they quiet down since he is in so much pain after All In. He then starts running everyone down, talking about denouncing his American citizenship except to stay in the most beautiful place on Earth…Plainview, Long Island, New York. He directs his attention to Will Ospreay, saying MJF had the match won and when Ospreay eventually gets after the top prize in the business, he will be there to ruin his life and he will enjoy it.
He starts to call out Daniel Garcia for what he did at All In…but Garcia slides into the ring to blindside the former champ, choking him out with his scarf before pulling him to the corner. He looks to hit MJF with a piledriver from the turnbuckle shades of what Max did to him, but security intervenes…only to be laid out by Garcia instead! MJF sends him to the corner for some stomps, but Garcia turns it around before looking once more for that piledriver.
More security rush to the ring, keeping Garcia away as MJF pulls his shirt off to break free. He tries to rush into the ring but security pull him away and up the ramp as Garcia grabs the microphone, revealing that he pawned off the Dynamite Diamond Ring in Buffalo to get a round-trip ticket to London to ruin the biggest moment of MJF’s life!
Max is incensed as Daniel says he tells MJF he went to Tony Khan to get a match at All Out…but a match isn’t enough. He wants to drop MJF with a piledriver and break his neck, and if anyone cares about him they’ll have to watch Max suffer. He then throws the mic at MJF, causing him to try and rush at Garcia once more before security intervenes one last time, sending MJF to the back as we cut away.
Video Package: We look at the surprise AEW debut of Ricochet during the Casino Gauntlet, with Ricochet promising this is just the beginning of his journey here.
Back at ringside, HOOK makes his way to the ring for our next match. Out next are the Conglomeration, before Roderick Strong and the Learning Tree make their respective entrances before this match gets underway!
“All Star” Eight-Man Tag Match: Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith, Big Bill & Roderick Strong vs. Orange Cassidy, HOOK, Mark Briscoe & Kyle O’Reilly
We start off with HOOK and Jericho, but that turns out to be a ruse as Jericho tags in Bryan Keith instead. HOOK takes the Bad Apple down with a front headlock, keeping Keith at bay before tagging in Orange Cassidy. The pair double team Keith before O’Reilly tags in, taking Bryan to the ropes for a hard kick before Briscoe tags in for a shot at the Bad Apple.
He takes Keith down with a suplex before laying in a kick on Keith, who then escapes for a tag to Big Bill. He and the ROH World Champion stand off before Bill sends Briscoe to the corner by the throat. Mark fights back but is soon sent back to the corner, where Bill lays in some hard chops to the chest. Briscoe finds himself in dangerous territory now, fighting off his foes in the corner before escaping…and chaos ensues between all eight men, brawling in and out of the ring as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: The chaos continues until we find Briscoe and Jericho getting back into the ring, going at it until Jericho gets a tag to Big Bill while Briscoe tags in Cassidy. The Redwood lays into Cassidy as we come back from break…
…and Jericho tags in to stay on the attack! Jericho locks in a full nelson on Orange, who seems as intent on getting his hands in his pockets as he is to break the hold. Jericho powers him away from this, but Cassidy manages to get it done as Jericho rethinks his strategy…only to be sent away by Orange! Tag to Keith as Briscoe tags back in, and Mark goes after the Bad Apple and a returning Jericho.
Jericho gets sent out of the ring as Briscoe threatens Keith with a crane kick…but Strong runs in for a backbreaker! The ref admonishes him as Keith mounts up on Briscoe with some punches before tagging Roderick in. Strong sends him to the corner for some strikes before tagging Bryan back in, and the Bad Apple sends Briscoe to the ropes…only for O’Reilly to get a blind tag! He and Briscoe fight back, sending Strong away after Keith tags in…but as Kyle focuses on Bryan, Bill slaps the Bad Apple’s back to tag himself in!
Big Bill goes off, clearing the ring before driving Cassidy into the mat with a spinning side slam as we go to picture-in-picture once again.
Picture-in-Picture: Bill maintains control of the match as he lays into O’Reilly throughout much of the break, showing off his power as he sends Kyle into the corner for some back elbow strikes. The ref is distracted as Keith hangs up O’Reilly on the middle rope, before we come back from break!
Kyle finally starts to fight back as Bill tags in Roderick Strong…and HOOK gets the tag! He drops Strong before looking for a T-Bone suplex on Big Bill, only for Strong to intervene. He gets sent away however, and HOOK manages to connect with a T-Bone suplex on the big man on the second try! He then hits Strong with a Northern Lights suplex for the pin, but Keith breaks it up. Keith fights off the Conglomeration with a flurry of offense, before Briscoe pulls him out of the ring. Mark goes for a dive but is cut off by Jericho, who teases a dive of his own before stopping in the middle of the ring to wave to the crowd.
HOOK drops him with a suplex before Strong gets involved, hitting a big knee on HOOK before Kyle hits a knee of his own on Roderick. Cassidy gets involved before hitting a dive on the outside, which is followed by one from Briscoe as Strong gets a nearfall, only for HOOK to lock in Redrum on Strong! Roderick has his foot under the ropes but the ref only sees the tapout before calling for the bell!
Winners via submission: Orange Cassidy, HOOK, Mark Briscoe & Kyle O’Reilly
There is little time for celebration as all eight men end up brawling shortly after the match, until security and officials come out to break things up.
Backstage we see Mercedes Mone’ celebrating her title defense at All In before it gets interrupted by Private Party, who insist that you can’t have a party without them. They bring up her upcoming NJPW Strong Women’s Championship defense before basically trying to hit on the double champion…only for Kazuchika Okada to step in, running them down before telling Mone’ how to properly say goodbye to the pair.
-Commercial Break-
We head to the stage where Tony Schiavone welcomes Mariah May, only for the new AEW Women’s World Champion to interrupt by saying the celebration has been postponed. She refuses to hold such a big occasion for this town, mocking the crowd before showing them just a glimpse of The Glamour saying “look now and never forget, this is your World Champion” before heading to the back.
We get a look backstage from All In on Sunday, where Grizzled Young Veterans have something of a confrontation with the Young Bucks. Backstage, GYV issue a statement to the entire tag team division ahead of their match against the Outrunners this Friday at Rampage…grit your teeth!
-Commercial Break-
Video Package: We get a look at Konosuke Takeshita’s journey through the G1 Climax tournament in New Japan, with The Alpha making his AEW return in a big four-way match this Friday on Rampage!
Back at ringside, Ricochet makes his way out to a big pop from the crowd for our main event. He enters the ring before Kyle Fletcher comes out next, accompanied by Don Callis who goes to the commentary booth as this match gets underway!
Ricochet vs. Kyle Fletcher
The two go at it from the opening bell, with Fletcher eventually being sent to the outside by Ricochet who shows off with a flip off the ropes before going after Kyle…who turns things around by sending him into the barricade! Kyle backs up before running toward the barricade…where Ricochet cuts him off with a flying forearm as we go to picture-in-picture!
Picture-in-Picture: It doesn’t take long for the action to get back to the ring, where Kyle cuts Ricochet off in order to take control of the match. He stomps away at Ricochet in the corner before posing for the crowd. He brings Ricochet back up in the corner for a chop, with Ricochet trying his best to recover despite Fletcher sending him to a different corner to stay on top of things…and then whipping him across the ring for more damage, enjoying himself as we come back from break!
Ricochet starts to fight back now, hitting the ropes before Fletcher cuts him off, driving him into the mat to keep him grounded. Ricochet sent to the corner as Fletcher fights him on the turnbuckle, only to be shoved away before Ricochet gets the drop on him with a springboard clothesline that takes the former ROH Television Champion to the canvas. Ricochet gets sent to the ropes but hits a springboard back elbow to take Fletcher down once more, sending Kyle to the corner for a shoulder block before taking to the ropes…but Kyle cuts him off!
Kyle gets dropped to the mat as Ricochet goes for the cover, but Fletcher manages to kick out. Ricochet looks for a Death Valley Driver but Fletcher fights back, only to be sent to the ropes for a chop and a lariat…before he evades to hit a lariat of his own, dropping Ricochet to the mat instead. Fletcher builds up momentum here, but is cut off with a dropkick from Ricochet forcing him to roll out of the ring…before Ricochet takes to the air for a dive on him, sending Fletcher into the barricade!
Ricochet sends him back into the ring, climbing up top for what ends up being a flying nothing as Fletcher fights back. He drops Ricochet back down to the mat once more, but it’s only good for a nearfall as Ricochet kicks out. Kyle hits a boot on him on the ropes, but Ricochet starts fighting back with an elbow strike and a pump kick…and Ricochet drops him back down with a Death Valley Driver for the cover, only for Fletcher to kick out once more!
Ricochet has just the thing to put Fletcher down for good, however, hitting a lifting reverse DDT dubbed the Vertigo to pick up the win in his first singles match in AEW!

The celebration is cut short by the arrival of Will Ospreay, a man with his fair share of history with the man standing tall…but this staredown is cut off by PAC, who hits a poison rana sending Ospreay onto the stage! PAC mockingly “welcomes” Ricochet to AEW, telling him to get to the back of the line where he belongs as Ospreay belongs to PAC. He runs off before Ricochet can get to him, leaving him to check on the International Champion as we cut away.
Backstage, we try to get some answers from Jon Moxley who offers none in return, instead attacking backstage crew with the help of…Marina Shafir!? A genuinely confusing moment here, leaving us with more questions as we cut back to ringside.
Bryan Danielson makes his way to the ring to a big pop from the crowd, addressing that after coming up short multiple times he’s finally managed to win the AEW World Championship. Bryan then talks about her daughter saying this was the best day of her life…which may have been partly because of a ride on a Peppa Pig double decker bus ride, but still. He gets choked up as he acknowledges that Sunday night was the biggest moment of his career, before addressing the question of “what’s next” asked at the press conference.
Danielson says that his AEW contract has been up since August 1, he has neck surgery coming up soon, and his family is ready for him to come home. He’s had a lot of thinking to do since Sunday, and a lot to say. He thanks the company and everyone in it for their hard work, talking about his love for pro wrestling and AEW’s existence makes the business and his life better for it. When he thinks of all the things the people starting this company did, and the peers in the back, and everyone who will wrestle in AEW in the future, he realized it’s probably time for him to go home…but not yet!
He will NOT retire as AEW World Champion. He will fight for this title as hard as he can. Don’t get confused, as soon as he loses this title his full-time career is over…but it won’t be anytime soon, because he has a lot of heads to kick in still! He lays out an open challenge for anyone to prove themselves at All Out in Chicago…and is interrupted by Jack Perry, the TNT Champion seemingly speaking from backstage as he addresses the path he took to come back to AEW.
He talks about punching Tony Khan, making his own story by becoming TNT Champion, and the last time he stood across the ring from Danielson, he pinned him despite being set on fire. Jack says his future is to retire the American Dragon, and his and AEW’s future are one and the same. Bryan’s future, however, is standing behind him…and we cut back to see Perry blindside Danielson in the ring! He lays into the AEW World Champion, standing tall with both titles as Dynamite comes to a close.
