PWInsider has reported that Rhea Ripley is not expected to wrestle until WWE SummerSlam.
This would likely account for Ripley not having any physical interaction with Liv Morgan or others since returning to WWE programming.
According to the report, the former WWE Women’s World Champion has not been 100% cleared for physicality, with sources expecting the process to be completed in time for the premium live event.
PWInsider further notes that initial talks of Ripley returning to storylines at or after SummerSlam changed with the decision to go with the current feud versus Morgan, stemming from a backstage attack on RAW in April.
During the brawl Ripley was legitimately injured, leading to her vacating the championship the next week.
Despite the injury and initial timetable for her recover, Ripley reportedly stated she would be good to go in time for what is notably one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year.
WWE SummerSlam takes place Saturday, August 3 from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
