WWE Superstar AJ Styles is making his return to Japan.
During a Pro Wrestling NOAH event in Yokohama, Japan on Sunday, Styles appeared by video, announcing that he would be facing Naomichi Marfuji at NOAH’s Budokan event on Saturday, July 13.
The event will stream live on pay-per-view, via ABEMA, which also airs WWE programming.
Just last week, NOAH said they would have a major announcement on Sunday, June 16 involving WWE. During a press conference last month, CyberFight’s new president Yasuaki Okamoto said one of his goals was to have a more strengthened relationship with WWE.
ABEMA is owned by CyberFight, which is the parent company of CyberAgent.
WWE and NOAH worked together last year, when Shinsuke Nakamura appeared at NOAH’s New Year’s show, defeating The Great Muta, who retired later that year.
Styles lost to Cody Rhodes at Saturday’s Clash at the Castle in a Undisputed WWE Championship “I Quit” Match, which took place in Glasgow, Scotland.
