Variety has reported that Seven Bucks Productions has signed a first-look deal with The Walt Disney Company to develop films for theatrical and streaming release.
The report notes that the multi-year agreement is not limited to filmed content, meaning the production company founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Dany Garcia will have an opportunity to collaborate across all Disney divisions including its parks.
The news is seemingly a culmination of a long-standing relationship between the companies, with highlights including the Jungle Cruise film adaptation starring and produced by The Rock, and two seasons of Behind The Attraction for the Disney+ streaming service.
Johnson is set to reprise his role as Maui in the upcoming Disney film Moana 2, and the UFL pro football league he holds ownership in currently has a broadcast deal with ESPN.
