Former WWE Tough Enough winner and development talent Daniel Rodimer, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 7 pertaining to charges of murder.
Back in October 2023, Rodimer was arrested for murder in relation to the death of 47-year-old Christopher Tapp, following an incident that took place at a hotel in the Las Vegas area. Tapp was later pronounced dead at a Las Vegas hospital. Even though it was believed that Tapp’s death was an accident, per KMVT-TV local authorities had begun investigating Tapp’s death as a homicide. The Clark County Coroner’s office stated Tapp’s cause of death was a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
This past March, according to News 3 in Las Vegas local authorities filed the arrest warrant in Las Vegas Justice Court, for the charge of open murder. It is alleged by the Clark County District Attorney’s office that Rodimer had killed Tapp by striking him “on the head, the said killing having been willful, deliberate and premeditated.”
David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, who are the defense attorneys for Rodimer, when speaking with KTVB-TV in Las Vegas, told the station that Rodimer “maintains his complete innocence and looks forward to his day in court.
Rodimer sought election to the Nevada State Senate in June 2018, to represent District 8. Rodimer lost in to Valerie Weber in the primary election by 142 votes. Then, in 2019, Rodimer announced his bid for Nevada’s 3rd congressional district. He lost to incumbent Susie Lee in the general election.
Back in March 2021, Rodimer announced his candidacy for Texas’s 6th congressional district special election. He dramatically changed his accent and persona during his campaign ads, compared to his run in Nevada the previous year.
Rodimer has not wrestled since he was released from WWE in 2007.
