In the main event of the May 30 episode of NXT live on the USA Network, Carmelo Hayes defeated Noam Dar to retain the NXT Championship.
As Hayes celebrated his win, Baron Corbin ran in and attacked him from behind. Corbin left Hayes lying in ring, and then picked up the NXT Championship raised it above his head as the episode came to an end.
Corbin became a ‘free agent’ following the 2023 WWE Draft. Since he was not picked for either Raw or SmackDown, he is free to appear on all WWE television shows.
