Roman Reigns hits 1,000 days as WWE Universal Champion

As of May 27, 2023, Roman Reigns has hit 1,000 days as the WWE Universal Champion.

Back on August 30, 2020 at the WWE Payback PPV, Reigns defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat Match to capture the Universal Championship. Back at WrestleMania 38, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship, in a title unification match.

Reigns has made 28 successful title defenses, with his most recent successful defense against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 Night Two.

Other past WWE Superstars that have held a major WWE/F Championship for over 1,000 days is as follows:

Bruno Sammartino – 2,803 days and 1,237 days

Pedro Morales – 1,027 days

Bob Backlund -2,135 days

Hulk Hogan – 1,474 days

Reigns and Solo Sikoa will challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championships at today’s Night of Champions, live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event will stream live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network Everywhere else.
