According to a report by Fightful Select, CM Punk has been pitching to had a match with the current ROH World TV Champion Samoa Joe.
It was also said that this news comes after there were reports of pitches for Punk to face Chris Jericho, after the two were said to have a meeting recently in Florida to resolve their personal issues. Following that meeting, reportedly Punk and Jericho were open to working with each other again despite their differences. Even though Tony Khan and AEW has not yet made any official announcement regarding Punk’s return, he is expected to be featured on the upcoming AEW Collision show. Furthermore, it has not clear if these pitched matches against Jericho or Joe would be one-offs or the beginning of a longer program.
Punk and Joe have not had a match in the ring since their days under the original Ring of Honor. Joe last appeared on AEW television at the Revolution pay-per-view back on March 5, when he lost the TNT Championship to Wardlow.
Tony Khan and AEW is expected to reveal more details about the new Collision show at the Warner Brothers-Discovery Upfront presentation at the Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City on Wednesday. It has been said Collision will air on Saturday nights on TNT from 8:00 to 10:00 pm ET and will have a soft brand split, with only the AEW talent that are willing to work with Punk.
