Trinity Fatu shuts down reports of NJPW/Stardom not signing her due to money issues

Trinity Fatu (former WWE Superstar Naomi) has taken to social media to comment on recent reports of her not signing with NJPW and Stardom due to money issues with Bushiroad’s wrestling division.

The Trinity Fatu Source Twitter account has noted that she (Fatu) shut down recent rumors of money issues with Stardom in an Instagram Story. The Twitter post, which contains the image with “NOT TRUE”, was taken directly from Fatu’s Instagram Stories account.

F4WOnline/The Wrestling Observer had reported that Fatu “is not in NJPW/Stardom yet due to pressure to keep spending down within Bushiroad’s wrestling division.” Dave Meltzer said the following in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“The hard part about a longer commitment (to Mone) is that Bushiroad’s wrestling division, even though Stardom has grown greatly, has overall taken a major financial hit because of New Japan’s declines related to the pandemic, even with New Japan World up. Because of that, the wrestling division is under pressure to keep spending down. An example is that they were told they could bring in Trinity Fatu, but it was felt it would cost too much for the return and thus far hadn’t made that deal.”

Fatu has not wrestled since May 2022 when she and Sasha Banks (now Mercedes Mone’ walked out of the May 16, 2022 episode of WWE Raw at the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, VA due to what they claimed were creative differences and lack of respect as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Mone’ is currently signed to NJPW and is the promotion’s IWGP Women’s Champion, while Fatu still remains a free agent.

Fatu attended the March 31 ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view to support her longtime friend Athena. Back on March 20, Fatu filed to trademark “Trinity Starr.” However, according to Fightful, Fatu abandoned the trademark back on April 17.
