According to Deadline on Thursday, John Cena has been cast in a new comedy movie titled ‘Grand Death Lotto’ for Amazon Studios that will stream exclusively on Prime Video upon its release. The cast includes Simi Liu (Shang-Chi, Barbie) and Awkwafina (Shang-Chi, Jumanji).
Paul Feig is set to direct the movie and Rob Yescombe is set to write the film. Feig is an American film director and writer who is best known for creating Freaks and Geeks and directing Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy and A Simple Favor. Yescombe is known for The Invisible Hours (2017), Outside the Wire (2021) and Rime (2017).
As of this writing, the movie’s release date is currently unknown.
Cena is set to appear on this Monday’s WWE Raw at TD Garden in Boston. He is also on the poster for WrestleMania 39 and is expected work a program with Austin Theory leading up to a match at the event, which takes place April 1 and 2 at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles, CA.
