Wrestleview is sad to have learned that Lanny Poffo has passed away.
WWE Hall of Famer “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan shared the sad news of Poffo’s passing on Twitter Thursday. Poffo was 68.
As of this writing, there is no known cause of death.
Poffo joined WWF/E in 1985, first wrestling as “Leaping Lanny.” His gimmick later changed to “The Genius.” Poffo signed with WCW in 1995. However, he only wrestled one time. He gave the WWE Hal of Fame Induction Speech for his brother, “Macho Man” Randy Savage in 2015.
Poffo spent the last several years living in Ecuador.
