WWE’s Day 1 Premium Live Event reportedly canceled

As first reported by Wrestlenomics, and sources including F4WOnline and PWInsider, WWE’s Day 1 PPV scheduled for January 1, 2023 has reportedly been canceled.

The event was scheduled to take place from The State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. Last year’s Day 1 was held in the same venue on January 1, 2022.

According to Wrestlenomincs, there were said to be conflicts with major football games in Atlanta on December 31 and January 1. Per the Wrestling Observer, tickets were supposed to have gone on sale September 23, but didn’t. Dave Meltzer notes that when he has asked WWE about tickets not going on sale, WWE did not respond.

Day 1 would have gone head-to-head on Peacock with NBC’s last Sunday Night Football game of the regular season between the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

As of this writing, the event is still listed on the website for the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. WWE has yet to comment on the cancelation of the event, or if it will be rebranded or re-scheduled as previously reported and speculated.
