As first reported by Fightful Monday evening, and then F4WOnline, MJF and Tony Khan are reportedly going to be meeting in Las Vegas sometime on Tuesday.
It is unknown as of this writing what MJF and Khan are going to be discussing, or even if the meeting is legitimate.
Several reports have stated that MJF will not appear on this Wednesday’s Dynamite, given how Sunday’s Double or Nothing PPV match against Wardlow ended with MJF being taken out of the building in a stretcher.
The now reported meeting follows this past weekend, in which MJF legitimately did not show up at Saturday’s Fan Fest, which then began several days of rumors and discussion regarding whether this a work, or if this was real, and if he even appear at the Double or Nothing PPV.
The issues with MJF stem from his current level of status in the company vs. what his current level of pay is. Several sources have said he is scheduled to become a free agent January 2024. MJF has openly discussed his contract status, and that he wants to be paid the highest talent in pro wrestling. There has been various reports indicating that Tony is willing to increase MJF’s pay if he signs an extension with AEW, which according to a number of sources, is something MJF is not willing to do at this point and time.
