Recap by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com
Impact opens up with the Hardyz in the ring talking about Matt’s Full Metal Mayhem with EC3. Matt says that match could have went either way and he says that he feels like right now he is the man to carry TNA into the future. He says that he is coming for EC3’s title and he says he wants one more title shot.
EC3 comes out with Tyrus and he says that in 1999 when he was just a kid he was there live watching the Hardyz in a Ladders Match so to have the opportunity to share that sort of match with Matt he couldn’t have been more… DISSAPOINTED! He calls the Hardyz the “grovler and the gimp” now and he says that Matt put his best effort in only for EC3 to go into “God Mode” one more time and yet again come out victorious.
Jeff says that EC3 needs to explain to the fans why he is such a jackass but EC3 says he is the franchise of TNA not a jackass and that title on his shoulder proves it. EC3 says he is in the position that Jeff should be in but Jeff is just a daredevil that can’t even stick a landing now. He says that next time Jeff wants to be in the hospital just let him know and he will put him in it for a broken face instead of a broken leg. Jeff says he isn’t cleared to wrestle but he will knock the hell out of EC3 right now.
EC3 says that since he is a giver if the fans chant “Matt for Champion” then he will give him another shot. The fans chant it and EC3 says he will do it if Matt and Jeff agree to one stipulation. If EC3 wins then Jeff must become EC3’s own persona assistant. EC3 taunts Jeff by telling him he will be washing his car and cooking his meals for him. He says that Matt can either take it or leave it and then leaves the ring.
Josh and Pope discuss the show tonight and they reveal that Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett are both here tonight. Pope says that ever since Jeff has been in charge GFW vs. TNA has been off the chart. Josh says that in the Main Event four former champions will face off in a Fatal 4-Way with the winner earning a shot at PJ Black for the King of the Mountain TItle.
A video package highlighting the horrible feud between EY and Chris Melendez is shown.
Backstage EY says that he has taken Melendez’s pride and his dignity and now that he has made the fatal mistake of asking for another match with him he is going to take the only thing he has left: his leg.
—-COMMERCIAL BREAK—-
“Showtime” Eric Young vs. “The Sarge” Chris Melendez
The stipulation of this match is that if EY wins then he gets Melendez’s prosthetic leg. EY beats down The Sarge and wears him down for several minutes before Melendez starts to make a babyface comeback with a snapmare counter out of a headlock. Melendez hits a series of clotheslines and then a Spinning Neckbreaker Mr. Anderson style. Melendez hits a Bully Bomb and then grabs EY again, but EY rakes his eyes and tosses him inot the corner. EY charges at Melendez but he floats over EY and rolls him up for a nearfall. EY gets right back to his feet and attempts the Piledriver but EY blocks it and then EY takes Melendez down and cradles him using his feet on the ropes for leverage to the pin.
Winner: Eric Young via pinfall (rollup)
After the match EY demands that Melendez hand over his leg and if he is a man of his word he will hand it to EY. Melendez takes his leg off and tosses it to EY as EY was taunting him (by backing up repeatedly to make Melendez have to hop towards him). EY taunts Melendez by saying that he will mount Melendez’s leg on his mantle because he is a big game hunter.
