TNA iMPACT!
Orlando, Florida (Impact Zone)
December 3, 2009
Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz
Report by: Josh Boutwell of WrestleView.com
The show starts off with highlights of the drama with Foley and his paranoia followed by the usual Impact intro. At ringside Tenay hypes up the big interview with Dixie Carter for later tonight and then we cut to the ring.
Desmond Wolfe is standing inside the ring surrounded by the Six Sides of Steel. Wolfe calls Angle ?Mr. Mangled? and says that he’s there tonight to set the record straight as the fans chant ?you tapped out? at him. He says everyone is saying that Angle beat him at Turning Point and yes he tapped out because he is no dummy. He says he thought he had all the answers and Angle changed the question, but Angle did not beat him. He says beating someone is punishing them mentally and physically and owning them so that they know they are nothing compared to you which is what he’s done to Angle week after week. He says that last week he read Angle like a book and he knew that spitting in Angle’s face he would lose his cool and his chance at a shot at the big belt. Wolfe says he has already embarrassed Angle more times than he can remember so it’s time to end him, and that is why he is standing inside the Six Sides of Steel. He says at Final Resolution they will compete in a match that he likes to call ?Three Degrees of Pain? (think Three Stages of Hell). He says it is a 2/3 Falls Match with the first fall being pinfall, second fall is submission, and the third fall (if it get’s that) will be inside the cage where the only way to win will be to escape it! He says he won?t need the cage because he will pin Angle after the Tower of London and then force him to submit to the London Dungeon. He says he?ll then escape the cage anyway and embarrass Angle three times. He says if Angle doesn?t understand than to come out and see him. Angle’s music hits and the Olympic gold medalist walks out to the stage. Angle says if there is one thing that he has learned from Wolfe it’s that he should always be prepared when they are in the same arena together. He says he’s in his wrestling gear and he asks why he shouldn?t walk down there and kick Wolfe’s a** right now. Angle says that he thinks he will and starts walking towards the cage. Wolfe locked the cage door as Angle was talking so Angle can?t get in. Angle decides to climb the cage! As Angle gets in the ring Wolfe charges but eats right hands and a European Uppercut from Angle! As Wolfe hits the mat he reaches into his pants and pulls out a pair of brass knuckles! Angle grabs Wolfe but eats the brass knuckles! Wolfe grabs Angle and then throws him into the cage repeatedly! Wolfe puts his sunglasses back on and then he pulls out the lock key and stands over Angle saying ?like you said, Kurt, always be prepared.?
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
Back from commercials JB is in Foley’s office and he’s complaining about Dixie not calling him back. JB says she’s a busy woman and she?ll probably get back to him. Foley questions when that will be and says it?ll probably be when Hogan and his cronies are running the place with Brutus Beefcake in his chair and Brian Knobbs holding the microphone (good lord no, please). Kurt Angle busts into Foley’s office and says he wants Wolfe tonight! Foley says he doesn?t even know what his role in TNA is anymore so Angle tells him that if he can?t make the match then he?ll find someone who can. Foley gets mad and says that he can book matches and if he wants a shot at Desmond Wolfe tonight he gets it as long as he tells him everything he knows about the Hogan thing. Angle says Foley has a big match in two weeks and he’s worried about Hogan who isn?t even here yet. He says the problem isn?t Hogan, it’s Foley’s jealousy towards him. Angle leaves and Foley starts screaming about not being jealous of Hogan.
Doug Williams w/Brutus Magnus & Rob Terry vs. Alex Shelley w/Chris Sabin
This is the first time these two have faced off in one-on-one action and Slick Johnson sends Terry & Brutus to the back but they lay out Sabin before they leave. That distracts Shelley and Williams jumps him from behind as the bell rings. Williams with right hands and then he attempts to whip Shelley into the ropes but Shelley reverses it and then springboards off the ropes into an Enziguri to the back of Williams head! Williams bails out to the floor but Shelley dives through the ropes with the Suicide Dive onto Williams on the floor! Shelley rolls Williams back into the ring and then climbs to the top. Shelley hits a Flying Cross Body off the top, 1?2?NO Williams kicks out! Shelley lights up Williams with a knife edge chop and then he attempts to whip Williams into the corner, but Williams blocks it and then puts Shelley up in a modified Gory Guerrero Special and slams Shelley into the corner. Shelley is left hanging upside down on the top rope and Williams hits a dropkick to his back. Williams puts Shelley in a modified Bow & Arrow submission hold but Shelley is able to counter it into a lateral press for a nearfall. Williams then comes back with a Backbreaker and he holds Shelley over his knee and pushes the head and back. Shelley tries to break the hold with kicks to the head so Williams drops him and then hits a clubbing blow to the head. Williams hits a European Uppercut and then slaps Shelley before whipping him into the corner. Williams charges and Shelley tries to get his boot up but Williams catches the boot and then hangs it up in the ropes and kicks the leg of Shelley. Williams goes for a running knee in the corner but Shelley avoids it and then he hits a series of leg kicks that gets Williams to his knees where Shelley hits a round kick to the chest of Williams. Shelley picks Williams up and goes for the Kryptonite Krunch but Williams counters into a rollup, but Shelley rolls through and absolutely decapitates Williams with a round kick to the side of Williams head! 1?2?NO he kicks out! Shelley sets up for the Sliced Bread but Williams shoves him into the corner and then hits a Back Suplex. Williams climbs to the top rope and hits the Flying Corkscrew European Uppercut. Shelley crashes into the corner and sits down there where Williams comes charging in with the Running Knee. 1?2?NO Shelley kicks out! Williams whips Shelley into the corner and charges but Shelley moves and then hits a Leaping Enziguri to the back of Doug’s head! Shelley goes for a German Suplex but Williams counters with the standing switch and then slams Shelley into the corner, and goes for the Chaos Theory (roll through German Suplex)! Shelley blocks it and then his a back kick to the gut followed by a big Superkick! Shelley grabs Williams and hits the Sliced Bread! 1?2?3 and Shelley picks up the win!
Winner: Shelley via pinfall (Sliced Bread)
In the back Suicide is sitting on a set of stairs when D?Angelo Dinero walks up. Dinero says he brings a gift for Suicide plus business. He says TNA has put together an 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match for Final Resolution. He says it’s going to be Team 3D, Rhino, & Jesse Neal against Matt Morgan, Hernandez, him, and a fourth man of their choosing. He says that he stood up and told them that he knew who their partner should be and that’s Suicide. Suicide stops him and says that Dinero may have won the trust of Hernandez & Matt Morgan but the ?dark savior’s? trust comes at a much higher price. He starts to walk off but Dinero stops him and says he respects that. He says he and Suicide have had some epic battles and it was that moment when Suicide jumped off the stage to try and put him through a table that he realized he would do anything that it takes to get the job done much like himself. The thing he has in his hand is a piece of the table and he says that he kept it as a reminder and now he’s giving it to Suicide. He says he just wants Suicide to consider his offer and hands him the piece of the table (which has The Pope’s autograph on it).
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
In Foley’s office Foley is talking to D-Lo Brown! Foley says he needs D-Lo’s assessment on this whole Hogan thing. D-Lo (who is a TNA agent now) says he has a lot of work to do and he says he needs to talk to D-Lo because he mentors a lot of the young guys in TNA backstage. He says everyone is going to look to D-Lo to draw a conclusion about this Hogan thing, but D-Lo says from the first time he ever met Hogan he treated him with the utmost respect. D-Lo says the word on the street is Dixie has brought Hogan into TNA to help TNA. He says he takes Dixie on her word and then he leaves. Foley gets frustrated again and mocks D-Lo saying ?what, you think Hogan’s going to get you another run with the European belt, D-Lo?? JB asks if Foley has finally lost his mind.
?Notorious 1-8-7? Homicide vs. Suicide
All throughout the entrances Tenay & Taz put over how Homicide knows the identity of Suicide now and wonders when he will tell everyone the identity of Suicide. Homicide goes in for a collar and elbow tieup in the center of the ring but Suicide ducks underneath it and locks Homicide in a waistlock. Suicide hits a Gutwrench Suplex and then locks Homicide in a side headlock on the mat. Homicide gets to his feet and reverses the hold into his own side headlock. Suicide shoves Homicide off, grabs his arm, and then locks him right back into a side headlock. Suicide charges over the to the ropes and springboards off the ropes into a side headlock takeover. Homicide’s shoulders are down getting Suicide a nearfall. Homicide fights to his feet and shoves Suicide off into the ropes only to eat a shoulderblock from the Dark Savior. Suicide starts to run the ropes and Homicide dropped down to force Suicide to jump over him so Suicide stops in his tracks and puts Homicide in a Crossface! Homicide fights the hold off again and gets to his feet where Suicide again attempts to springboard off the ropes with a side headlock takeover but this time Homicide flings Suicide off of him and follows up with a Flying Corkscrew Elbow. Homicide whips Suicide hard into the corner and then throws a series of right hands on Suicide on the floor and then chokes him. Homicide locks Suicide in a wristlock and then pulls Suicide into a shortarm clothesline for a nearfall. After the match Homicide jumps Suicide and puts the beat down on him and keeps trying to pull his mask off. Dinero runs down to the ring t make the save which causes Homicide to bail out of the ring. Suicide gets to the ring and almost swings on him until he realizes what just went down. Dinero offers a handshake to Suicide but he backs off and then does the gun pointing to the head thing and the lights go off.
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
In the back the Beautiful People are walking in the hall and they say they are on their way to the set of their newest movie ?The Meanest Girls 3? when Daniels walks up and he says he has the perfect plot for their movie. They agree and walk off with Daniels.
At ringside Tenay & Taz hype up the interview with Dixie Carter more and then we cut to ODB’s segment. Her guest tonight is Tara, her opponent at Final Resolution. Tara says she can?t wait for their match and it’s going to be great but ODB cuts her off and tells her to stop with the phoniness because this segment is about being real and it’s about to get really real right now. ODB talks about Tara coming over from WWE and how she feels like that she can come right on over to TNA and become a Knockout (from being a Diva) while all the other girls have been busting their a**es to make the Knockout division the best women’s division in the world. ODB questions whether Tara slept her way to the top. Tara says that she broke a 2-year contract to leave the WWE and starts to get emotional as she says that the respect she has for ODB and the rest of the Knockouts is why she came to TNA. She says she doesn?t want to be remembered as a sumo wrestler walking down to the ring being mocked (when she dressed up as sumo wrestler for some Halloween thing in WWE I think). She says she worked her butt off to get where she was in WWE only to become a laughing stock at the end of her WWE career and having to help train the ?Barbie dolls? in WWE. Tara says she will work her butt off to prove herself to the other girls and the fans. ODB cuts her off again and apologizes to her and says she’s looking forward to their match?*BAM* she slaps Tara in the face! ODB throws a bunch of rights at Tara saying if she wants to cry she?ll give her something to cry about. ODB screams at Tara as some idiotic looking guys pull her off and Tara continues to cry and run off. That whole segment was pretty horrible.
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—

Nash punches Roode in the gut and then he drops an elbow to the back of Roode’s head. Nash taunts Storm so he comes into the ring and hits a double leg takedown and big right hands on Nash! The referee tries to pull Storm off of Nash so he kicks Nash in the head! Young runs in and hits a Running Knee to the back of Roode sending him crashing out to the floor. Young slides out too and slams Roode into the ring apron. Young rolls Roode back into the ring and hits an Axe Handle Drop and then Nash comes in and hits a big right hand. Nash follows up with knees in the corner repeatedly as Taz does his best Michael Cole impersonation as he says ?vintage Kevin Nash.? Young tags back in and hits a Scoop Slam on Roode followed by an Elbow Drop for a nearfall. Taz & Tenay compare Young & Nash’s relationship to that of Nash & Shawn Michaels? relationship when it was first starting out (the young Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels calling on the humongous Kevin Nash to be his body guard and eventual tag partner). Roode comes back with chops to Young and then a side rollup for a nearfall, but Young comes right back with a big clothesline for another nearfall. Young throws Roode into the corner and tags big Nash back in. Nash picks Roode up and drops him into the corner with the Snake Eyes. Nash charges at Roode in the corner but Roode gets his boot up then hits a series of rights and chops until Nash puts that big knee into the gut of Roode. Nash whips Roode into the corner and goes for the running back elbow, but Roode moves out of the way! Roode reaches out for a tag as Nash tags in Young. Young runs over and grabs Roode by the foot but Roode kicks him off and tags in Storm! Storm with a clothesline on Young followed by a whip into the ropes and a backdrop. Storm with a right hand on Nash and then he attempts to whip him into the ropes, but Nash reverses it onto to eat a Flying Forearm Smash from Storm HBK-style! Storm ducks a clothesline from Young and then hits the Backstabber! 1?2?NO Nash breaks it up! Roode comes in and attempts to whip Nash into the cornrer but Nash reverses it and then charges at Roode. Roode kicks Nash in the face and then climbs up top and hits the Blockbuster! Nash and Roode brawl out to the floor as Young attempts to whip Storm into the ropes, but Storm counters and hits the Eye of the Storm! 1?2?NO Young kicks out! On the floor Nash shoves Roode into the ring post and then Storm sets up for the Last Call, but Nash grabs him by the boot allowing Young to come over and low blow Storm (as the referee was trying to get Nash off of Storm’s leg)! Young grabs Storm and spikes him with the Piledriver for the pin!
Winners: Young & Nash via pinfall (Piledriver)
After the match Mick Foley walks down and says he wants to know why Hogan is coming to TNA and wants to know who he is bringing with him. Foley says he could flaunt his authority and threaten his job but instead he will appeal to him as a guy that has known Nash for 18 years. Nash says instead of buying TNA stock he should?ve bought himself a decent haircut and suit because in a few weeks they?ll come in handy when he’s looking for a new job. Foley tells Nash not to play with him and he deserves to know what the Dixie Carter & Hulk Hogan relationship is all about. Nash says that Foley has one of the cleanest reputations in the business but now he’s acting as paranoid as a guy leaving an Amsterdam coffee shop for the first time (think about it). Nash tells Foley just to call Hogan and then Foley asks for the number but Nash says Hogan told him not to give it to him. Foley says if this a joke then Nash won?t find it too funny when he stops asking for answers and starts grabbing them. Nash says he has a few old ?band mates? that need some practice because they?re thinking about bringing the band back together. I?m having flashbacks to 2000 right now.
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
Bobby Lashley’s music hits and the 2009 TCS Winner makes his way out to the ring alongside his wife Kristal Marshall. Tenay says that Lashley will get his title shot down the line but first he will get the rematch with Steiner at FR. Lashley says he has nothing to say to Steiner because he?ll do all his talking at Final Resolution. Kristal grabs the microphone and says she?ll do the talking. She says Steiner is sick, delusional, and obsessed. She says all she wanted to do was support her husband. She says she has never been harassed by any ‘sick weirdo’s? at Lashley’s MMA fights but apparently they do things differently in TNA. She says that Lashley won?t be held responsible for what he does to Steiner. She says when she barks, Bobby bites. She says at Final Resolution the big dog will eat him for lunch.
In the back Lauren is with Daniels and she says he has requested this time to speak. Daniels sniffs the air and says you can smell the change in the air. He says for proof all you have to do is look at him. He says he asked for something (interview time) and he got it, he didn?t get punished or sent home or slapped on the wrist. He says to celebrate his title shot at Final Resolution he’s dedicating his match with Abyss tonight and it’s a preview of what he?ll do to AJ at FR. She asks if she be focused on Abyss since that match is next and he laughs at her and says it’s sweet that she’s sticking up for Chris. Daniels says they really do deserve each other, laughs, and then walks off.

Daniels slaps Abyss in the face and this pisses the Monster off and Daniels bails out to the floor where Abyss follows. Daniels rolls back into the ring and comes off the ropes as Abyss gets back into the ring. Abyss lays Daniels out with a big boot as he charged and then he whips Daniels into the ropes and hits a Press Slam. Abyss hits a Corner Splash and then goes for the Shock Treatment. Daniels blocks it and then Abyss goes for the Chokeslam but Daniels starts motioning to someone. On the big screen we see Lauren in the bathroom and Beautiful People approaching her and grab her by the hair. Daniels low blows Abyss as he’s watching and rolls Abyss up! 1?2?3!
Winner: Daniels via pinfall (rollup)
AJ shakes his head at what Daniels just did and then Daniels taunts AJ and challenges him to get into the ring. AJ starts to climb into the ring until the hooded man runs out and jumps AJ from behind! We still don?t see who it was.
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
At ringside Tenay & Taz discuss the attack on AJ and then rundown the car for Final Resolution.
We cut to the sitdown interview with Mike Tenay & Dixie Carter. Tenay talks about the speech that Dixie did a few weeks ago and asks her if she wants to clarify anything about that. Dixie says she did that to make sure everyone was there for the same thing and that is for TNA to be the best wrestling company in the world. Tenay asks her why she allowed that meeting to be aired and she says that she didn?t want it to be aired at first but it was such an important meeting that if it were documented it would hold everyone accountable including herself. The interview shifts focus over to Sting and she says she can?t imagine wrestling or TNA without Sting. She says she spoke to Sting two weeks ago and he said to her ?you just brought in Hogan? and she replied with ?yeah, what are you going to do about it?? She says that she thinks it made Sting think really hard about coming back but him not showing up for the interview with Tenay was something she didn?t expect from him, but she is giving Sting space so that he will hopefully make the decision to stay in TNA. Tenay asks Dixie about Jeff Jarrett’s future in TNA. Dixie says there was a personal situation with Jarrett that affected the company and it put everyone in a difficult situation. She says Jeff was placed on a leave as a talent and with his position inside the company and she would like to leave it at that at this point. I think everyone knows by now that ?personal situation? she’s referring to is Jeff living with Karen Angle and possibly even having a relationship with her while she and Kurt were still married. Tenay shifts the focus to Hogan and he asks her how the negotiations starting. She says she heard Hogan talking about TNA on the radio so she decided to call him and he flew to Nashville and they had the first meeting. She says it just felt right. Tenay asks what the partnership with TNA mean to TNA. Dixie says TNA is great in itself but they need better awareness and Hogan is the most recognizable wrestler in the world and he also has a great mind for the business. Tenay asks what Hogan’s role in TNA will be. She says that Hogan will be working very closely with her in every aspect but doesn?t say anything specific. Tenay asks Dixie where she thinks TNA will be in the next 10 years. Dixie says she thinks TNA will become the biggest and best wrestling company in the world. She says they?re not trying to recreate history with Hogan, they are trying to create new history.
—COMMERCIAL BREAK—
In Foley’s office Desmond Wolfe approaches him and says he is a huge fan of his. He says he understands that without him he wouldn?t have been signed in TNA but he wants to discuss something else. Wolfe says that he saw Angle walk in and demand a match with Wolfe and Foley just grant him that and asks if that’s how things work in TNA. Wolfe asks if he asked to be put in a Spelling Bee with Scott Steiner would that be granted too (jokingly). Foley laughs and says probably because that would do big ratings. Foley says everything is not always as it seems and he says he will not be wrestling Angle tonight because he has other plans for Angle tonight. He says he still has the ‘stroke? in TNA and he looks like he just had an idea and keeps repeating ‘stroke? as he calls someone on his cell phone. It sounds like Jeff Jarrett answers! Foley says he needs to come to Impact next week and handle everything. Jeff says ‘screw you and screw TNA?. He says he was done 4 months ago and he’s done now and Foley can take his comedy and stick it straight up his a** and hangs up. I?m not sure if that was actually Jarrett or someone impersonating his voice. If it was then that guy sounded just like Jeff.

He says everytime his back is turned someone jumps him and whoever it is they will regret ever putting their hands on him and the next time he touches him it will be the last time the person does anything. Watch out Tomko.
After Kurt gets to the ring Foley walks out and says that it’s been a tough couple of weeks for him and something that Kurt said stuck in his crawl.
