This week’s Impact Wrestling opens up with highlights of last week along with Sting talking about getting Hogan back in the ring. Hogan says Sting will never make it to Bound for Glory.
In the Impact Zone Sting’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring in street clothes and carrying a contract. He’s wearing a Hulk Hogan t-shirt. Man, it’s weird as hell seeing Sting wearing his face paint and gloves with a t-shirt and jeans. Sting says times are great for him and this is going to be a great night because he’s pumped from what happened last week. He says beating Ric Flair opened the gate wide open for to get Hogan at BFG. Sting says everyone told him it was impossible to get Hogan back in the ring but it is going to happen. He wants Hogan to come down to the ring now and sign the contract and he gets the fans to chant for Hogan.
Hulk Hogan makes his way down to the ring looking none too happy. Hogan mockingly laughs at Sting and says he’s delusional and this thing won’t happen. Hogan says he’s not medically cleared and Sting starts freaking out. Sting says he has some footage to see how medically cleared Hogan is and they run the footage of Hogan hitting Sting with the steel chair over and over a few weeks ago, and punching him.
Hogan says he runs the show and he didn’t clear that footage to be shown anyway. Sting says that is proof Hogan can go and he thinks Hulk still has “it.” Hogan says it’s time for Sting to knock it off and end the game. He says he has nothing to prove and Sting has been chasing Hogan his entire career. Hogan says he runs TNA and he’s a business man now. Sting says if Hogan is a business man then they should do business right now. He says to forget BFG and they can fight right now. Eric Bischoff’s interrupts them.
Bischoff walks out and he asks Sting who he thinks he is. Bischoff kisses Hogan’s ass and then starts screaming at Sting to look at him. Sting then decks Bischoff! Hogan kicks the bottom rope and fakes like it hurt his back. Sting says they will fight at BFG and nothing will stop it, and leaves.
In the back Karen is with Mickie and Tessmacher and she reminds them that the winner of this match moves onto BFG. Before they walk away Karen stops Tessmacher and says if she sees anymore of Tessmacher’s “stripping” she’ll have to answer to her. Tessmacher says anything for Karen. Karen looks at Traci and says she told Traci to cover her boobs up. She asks Traci if it looks like she’s running a whore house. Kazarian walks up and says if she’s not running a whore house then why is she dressed like a Madame. Kazarian says he hopes Karen doesn’t charge more than 50 cents an hour because that’s all she’s worth. Kaz and Traci walk off and Karen calls Jeff.

Jeff Hardy arrives in the back as we come back from break.
Queen’s Qualifying Match
Brooke Tessmacher vs. Mickie James
Thankfully Tessmacher ignores Karen’s edict to not strip. Mickie and Tessmacher lockup and Mickie gets Tessmacher in a wristlock. Brooke counters into one of her own but Mickie cartwheels through it and into an armdrag. Mickie holds onto the wristlock but Brooke reverses it again. Mickie counters out yet again and into a Hammerlock. Mickie then transitions into a Side Headlock Takeover and holds onto the Headlock as she hits the mat. Tessmacher breaks the hold with a series of forearms. Brooke then whips Mickie into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Mickie ducks and hits a Snapmare Takeover followed by a sliding dropkick. Mickie then grabs Brooke but Brooke hits a back elbow and then a Hurricanrana! 1…2…NO Mickie kicks out! Brooke follows up with a dropkick and then a splash in the corner. Tessmacher then hits her Asstastic in the corner. Mickie goes nuts after that move and jumps Brooke with clotheslines and forearms. Mickie then hits a Flapjack and then hits the MickieDT! 1…2…3!
Winner: Mickie James via pinfall (MickieDT)
After the match Mickie helps Tessmacher up.
Earlier today Mexican America were walking in the parking lot and Anarquia is talking about getting tatted up with their motto “nada es imposible” and they jump in Hernandez’s nice truck to go to the tattoo shop. This dude actually has seats in the truck bed.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
Jeff Hardy is talking to TNA Agent, Al Snow, in the back. Snow says he respects Hardy for asking for forgiveness and he understands why some of the other boys are shutting him down too. Snow says everyone makes mistakes but he better not make the same mistake again. He also tells Hardy if he wants to make amends he better start at the top and work his way down.
TNA X-Division Championship
“A-Double” Austin Aries (c) vs. Jesse Sorensen
This is Aries first title defense fresh off his title win at No Surrender. Sorensen won this shot with a victory over Kid Kash at No Surrender as well. Sorensen and Aries lockup and Aries gets Jesse in a side headlock. Aries transitions into a hammerlock and then back to a headlock and then to a takedown. Aries then goes around Sorensen’s body before finally slapping him on the head and then getting to his feet and mocking Sorensen. Sorensen shows some frustration going after Aries but Aries retreats to the ropes. Aries then hits Jesse with a knee to the gut and locks in a side headlock. Sorensen shoves Aries into the ropes but then eats a shoulder block. Aries then hits the ropes but Sorensen leapfrogs him. Sorensen then swings at Aries but he ducks and slides out to the floor and taunts the crowd. Aries grabs Jesse’s football that he brings to the ring and starts running around ringside doing the Heisman pose, but Jesse hits a Sliding Dropkick on Aries on the floor! Sorensen follows up with a Slingshot Plancha over the top onto Aries on the floor! Kid Kash is shown walking down the ramp now as Sorensen rolls Aries back into the ring and climbs to the top. Sorensen notices Kash which allows Aries time to recover and crotch Sorensen on the top rope. Aries climbs up with Jesse but Jesse shoves Aries off! Jesse dives off the top with a Frog Splash Cross Body! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out! Jesse attempts to whip Aries into the ropes but Aries reverses it and then goes to leapfrog Jesse, but Jesse stops and kicks Aries. Jesse kicks Aries a 2nd time and then connects with a huge Lariat! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out! Jesse whips Aries into the corner and then charges but Aries catches him with a back elbow. Aries climbs up top and dives off but eats a dropkick in midair from Jesse! 1…2…NO Aries kicks out! Jesse sets up for his finisher but Aries blocks it and runs Jesse into the corner. Aries hits an uppercut and then charges at Jesse but Jesse gets his boot up! Kash taunts Jesse now and throws Jesse’s football at him. Kash turns around taunting the crowd and Jesse throws the ball at Kash’s back. Kash tries to get in the ring but the referee stops him. Aries hits a huge Running Dropkick to the back of Jesse’s head and then rolls him up! 1…2…3!
Winner & STILL X-Division Champ: Aries via pinfall (Running Dropkick)
After the match Kash and Jesse continue to talk trash and the referee gets between them.
In the back RVD and Anderson talk about their match with Ray & Lynn tonight. RVD says he thought he would have to wait for BFG to get his hands on Lynn but he gets to fight him tonight.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
At the tattoo shop Anarquia is getting ready for his tattoo but he tells Rosita & Sarita to go get him some tequila. The tattoo artist says she has another appointment so she’s going to send in another artist. Anarquia tells Hernandez that he’s scared of needles and he never told anybody so he wants Hernandez to pray with him. After they pray, they open their eyes and Ink, Inc. are standing there! Jesse Neal & Moore jump Mexican America! Neal shoves Hernandez’ head into a freezer and slams the door on him. Hernandez fights back and slams Jesse several times into a counter and talks trash to him. Neal fights back as Hernandez is pouring something on him. Neal slams Hernandez through a table and then gets in his face and says, “it’s been four months…WHO’S YOUR BITCH NOW?!”
We cut to the lobby where Anarquia and Shannon Moore are fighting now. Anarquia is getting the better of Moore and calls him a “punta” until Moore comes back and slams him into a stool. The chick who runs the tattoo parlor tries to get between them and Anarquia grabs her, then eats an elbow from that chick! I believe that’s Christina Von Eerie! She’s Jesse Neal’s fiancé and an extremely good wrestler, she wrestled down in Mexico for AAA for awhile. Moore and Neal continue to stomp Anarquia out and then they drag him back to the back. Neal slams a trashcan into Anarquia and then they toss him into one of the chairs and Moore grabs the tattoo gun. Neal says it’s time for Anarquia’s real tattoo and then he shoves the camera away and says we can’t see this as Anarquia screams.
In the back Jeff Hardy approaches Matt Morgan and asks if he’s seen Kurt Angle. Morgan says he hasn’t but he has to get something off his chest. Morgan says the way Hardy showed up to PPV as TNA’s World Champion was not only a black eye to that title and to the company, but it was a direct slap to the face of Morgan. Morgan says he’s the guy that Hardy screwed over for that belt not once but twice and he’d be a better role model as the World Champion than Hardy will ever be. Hardy says he agrees and then Morgan says he’d be 100% hypocritical if he didn’t say Hardy deserved another chance. Morgan reveals that he is a pain killer addict and right now he’s 4 years sober from pain killers. Morgan says this really is his last chance with Morgan and the very second Jeff even thinks about screwing up again he’ll be the very first person to hunt his little ass down. Morgan says Jeff is that talented and he has a great opportunity to flip flop this thing around and become one of the biggest role models in wrestling ever. Hardy says he understands and shakes Morgan’s hand.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
In the back RVD is laid out with a bunch of chairs laying on him. The camera guy screams for a trainer.
Jeff Hardy finds Kurt Angle and before Hardy can say anything Angle cuts him off. Angle says he doesn’t want Jeff Hardy in TNA and nobody does. Angle points at random people walking by and says they don’t want him here. Angle says he needs to get the hell out now. Hardy says he can deal with AJ Styles talking to him the way he did because he’s sincere but who is Angle to judge him. Angle gets pissed at the “who are you” line and he says “I’M KURT ANGLE…OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST…14 TIME WORLD CHAMPION THAT’S WHO I AM!” Kurt tells him to just get the hell out and starts to walk away but Jeff stops him. Jeff says maybe Kurt just doesn’t want him in TNA because he knows he’s his biggest threat. Kurt says Jeff is no threat to him and neither is anyone else. Kurt walks away and Jeff walks the opposite way.
Kurt Angle’s music hits and the World Heavyweight Champion makes his way down to the ring. Angle says before he begins his speech tonight he wants to invite Bobby Roode to the ring. Roode doesn’t make him wait long either.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
Angle congratulates Roode for passing the 1st test in beating Kazarian last week but tonight will be different because he has to face Christopher Daniels. Angle points out how Daniels took advantage of his best friend a few weeks ago on Impact so the question is will Daniels play by the rules tonight. Angle says he may or he may not and then Roode asks if this whole thing is really going to work. Roode says he’s said it before and he’ll say it to his face right now, for the last 13 years of his life he has given everything to the wrestling business and he has sacrificed everything for this one opportunity. Roode says he understands that Angle is the greatest wrestler to ever live but the one thing that Kurt needs to know about him right now is that come BFG on October 16th in Philly nothing or nobody will prevent him from walking out with the World Heavyweight Championship. A “next world champ” chant starts and Angle says he knows a man that will stand in his way and it could very well be his best friend in this business. Beer Money’s music hits and James Storm walks out.
Roode looks confused as Storm walks out with a “Beer Drinker 24/7” t-shirt on. Storm gets in Roode’s face and says that he can see what Bobby is thinking right now that maybe Immortal bought Storm off. Angle smiles but Storm says Bobby knows him and knows he makes his own rules. Storm says he didn’t come out to get into it with Bobby. Storm turns around and gets in Angle’s face and says that he came out here to get into it with Kurt. Kurt looks confused now. Roode smiles and Storm says since Kurt thinks he has all the stroke around here, maybe he should get on his knees right now and stroke his beer bottle. Storm cuts pretty deep with a “I hope you’re a better match maker than beer drinker” and you understand that one if you understand Kurt’s recent legal issue. Storm suggests Kurt Angle vs. James Storm tonight! Kurt says if Storm thinks he’s going to show him up tonight he has to be out of his freaking mind. Storm says he’s not trying to show him up, he’s going to earn Kurt’s respect one way or another. He says it’s time for him and Roode to get their justice. He tells Kurt to get his stuff on and they’ll see each other later….sorry ’bout yo damn luck!
Kurt and Roode stare each other down before Roode leaves the ring and Beer Money leave together.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
Handicap Match
Mr. Anderson vs. Bully Ray & “New F’N Show” Jerry Lynn
This Lynn’s first time back in the ring since his match with RVD at Destination X. Anderson does his usual intro but no RVD joins him after Immortal apparently beat him down. Tenay says doctors are not going to allow RVD to compete in this one. Anderson will start things off with Ray but before they lockup Ray tags Lynn in. Anderson hits both Lynn and Ray with right hands but Lynn comes back and attempts to whip Anderson into the ropes but Anderson counters into the Green Bay Plunge. Anderson climbs up top but Ray crotches him. Lynn then starts choking Anderson on the mat and puts the boots to him. Lynn tags Ray back in and Ray sticks his elbow into Anderson’s ribs as Lynn holds Anderson for him. Ray hits a Scoop Slam and then a Splash for a nearfall. Ray locks in a chinlock and taunts Anderson asking him where his partner is. Ray lets go of the hold and hits an Elbow Drop and tags Lynn back in. Lynn picks Anderson up and whips him into the corner. Lynn then rolls into a poke to the eyes followed by a Bulldog. Lynn then looks he’s going to do Rolling Thunder but stops and kicks Anderson and then mocks RVD. Anderson then rolls Lynn up out of nowhere! 1…2…NO Lynn kicks out! TNA’s website just announced that Lynn-RVD at BFG will be Full Metal Mayhem (TLC Match). Lynn puts the boots to Anderson again and then Lynn whips Anderson into the corner and tags Ray back in. Lynn whips Ray into Anderson in the corner but Anderson ducks and then clotheslines Lynn! Anderson takes out Ray and Lynn with elbows and clotheslines and then he hits a Swinging Neckbreaker on Ray for a nearfall. Anderson then backdrops Lynn but walks into forearms from Ray. Anderson ducks one of them and then goes for a Roundhouse Kick but Ray ducks and Anderson spins around into a Spinning Enziguri! 1…2….NO Lynn breaks it up! Lynn and Ray whip Anderson into the ropes and then they go for a Double Backdrop but Anderson stops, kicks Ray, and then tosses Lynn out to the floor. Anderson goes for a clothesline but Ray counters into a Bully Bomb attempt! Anderson blocks it and counters into the Mic Check! 1…2…NO Lynn pulls Anderson off of Ray! Lynn tries to toss Anderson into the ring steps but Anderson reverses it! Anderson climbs up top and hits the Kenton Bomb! 1…2…NO Lynn dives off the top to break up the pin but Anderson rolls out of the way and Lynn lands on Ray! Anderson shoves Lynn away and covers Ray again, 1…2…NO Ray kicks out! Lynn charges at Anderson but Anderson backdrops Lynn over the top rope. Lynn lands on the apron but then Anderson knocks him off. Anderson then charges at Ray but Ray gets his boots up. Ray climbs up top and taunts Anderson so Anderson punches him in the nuts! Anderson then goes for a Green Bay Plunge off the top but Lynn comes in and dropkicks Anderson’s legs. Lynn distracts the referee as Ray picks up his chain and nails Anderson with it. The referee turns around and Ray gets the pin.
Winners: Ray & Lynn via pinfall
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
In the back James Storm says everyone always asks him if he’s happy for Bobby Roode and he says of course he is, but Bobby has his shot and just because Storm isn’t getting a shot doesn’t mean he won’t stir up some trouble. Storm says Angle is the big fish right now…so he needs to get out of his pond.
Bobby Roode vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels
Daniels comes out in street clothes with a microphone. Clips of Daniels-AJ a few weeks ago in Huntsville are shown as Daniels comes to the ring. Daniels says last week Angle came up with this plan to have Roode face everyone from Fortune but he will not face Roode tonight. Daniels says it’s not because they’re both members of Fortune because it would be a show stealer, but he has nothing left to prove. Daniels says 3 weeks ago he defeated AJ Styles and Bobby is a great wrestler, but AJ is a former World Champion and a Grand Slam Champion so it doesn’t get any better than that. Daniels says with the way he dominated AJ there really is no point in facing Roode. AJ’s music hits and he walks down to the ring not looking too thrilled.
AJ asks Daniels if this thing is an ongoing joke with him because everytime Daniels gets a microphone he takes little jabs at him. Daniels tells AJ not to get bent out of shape and it’ll take time but he’ll accept facts. AJ says he’s over it, it’s not the first time he’s lost a match. AJ says it’s not him that needs to get over it, it’s Daniels. Daniels says there’s nothing to get over because he proved that he is the better man. AJ tells Daniels to keep living in his little bubble and he’s glad he got his confidence up, but if Daniels keeps dropping his name they might have another match. Daniels says they won’t have another match because he’s already beaten AJ. AJ slaps the microphone out of Daniels hand and then Daniels picks it up and says he didn’t know AJ was a sore loser AND a bitch! AJ snaps and jumps Daniels!
AJ and Daniels are brawling all around the ring! Security runs out and separates them as Daniels calls AJ a “p*ssy.” A “Let them fight” chant breaks out and AJ gets away from security and jumps onto Daniels!
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
Back from the break AJ and Daniels are still brawling and beating up security along the way! AJ’s shirt is ripped up. AJ and Daniels brawl into the crowd and then to the back. Daniels tosses AJ into the Direct Auto guys and AJ slams Daniels into a table! Nice product placement TNA. Daniels tries to walk away but AJ follows him and attacks him from behind! Daniels and AJ brawl into the ring again and Kazarian runs out and separates them. Kaz asks Daniels what the hell is wrong with him. Kaz holds up the Fortune symbol and says they’re family. Daniels says he’s cool and AJ agrees but then Daniels kicks AJ in the nuts! Kaz shoves Daniels and then checks on AJ as Daniels laughs and bails. Daniels spits at Kaz & AJ! Daniels says “I’m good now.”
In the back Kurt Angle is with Scott Steiner and he says he’s been training his ass off and Steiner has been training with him. Steiner says Angle is an animal and he’s the greatest of all time. Steiner says Angle is going to kick Storm’s ass tonight.
——————————————–COMMERCIAL BREAK——————————————-
In the back Kazarian tries to talk to Daniels again but Daniels is having none of it. Kaz says they’re both out of line but what just happened is bullsh!t and this isn’t “pro wrestling bullsh!t, its family.” Daniels says AJ has always been pushing him down. Kaz says he knows where Daniels is coming from but they are not his enemy. Daniels says he’s tired of being in AJ’s shadows and this whole thing is AJ’s fault. Daniels says he’s done talking about this. Later during the break Kaz found AJ (who is icing his balls) and AJ says Daniels just showed his true colors. Kaz says AJ knows what Daniels has been through the last few years but AJ says it’s not his fault. AJ says he slipped on the ropes and now Daniels thinks he’s superman. Kaz says AJ has to be the bigger man but AJ says he HAS been the bigger man. Kaz says he’s trying to be the bigger man and this whole thing is stupid. AJ pukes into a trashcan, that’s just sweet. Kaz says Fortune is imploding before their eyes.
Bischoff is talking to Hulk in the back about getting Hogan out of the match, but Hogan says next week he’s dropping a bombshell on everyone that will change this whole thing.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Tonight was up and down and started really slow, but the last hour was a lot better. Angle vs. Storm was EXCELLENT and I love seeing a guy like Storm get a shot solo and shine the way he did. I do want to say I think Angle has lost TOO much weight (I know he’s supposedly training for the Olympics but he’s going a little far with the weight cutting). They had an excellent back and forth match with some good nearfalls and the no contest really didn’t bother me because Storm still looks strong and Angle doesn’t take a pin.
I really loved the AJ-Daniels stuff finally coming to a head, that has had a nice slow build. I could have done without AJ trying to puke though.
Sorensen-Aries was a solid match but too short, and though Sorensen is good in the ring he just doesn’t have much charisma right now and his gimmick sucks. Keeping him with Kash is a good idea at this point.
Sting-Hogan was more of the same old crap.
Mickie-Tessmacher was just kind of there but at least it was eye candy.
I liked the Ink, Inc.-Mexican America brawl and that is probably the feud in the Tag Team Division right now that actually makes sense. It was their match earlier this year that Jesse Neal injured his neck in. It was nice to see Christina Von Eerie finally debut as well. She fits perfectly with Ink, Inc. and she’ll balance Rosita & Sarita out nicely.
The Jeff Hardy stuff is getting redundant but Morgan’s little speech was pretty cool.
I loved the promo and the tease of Storm turning on Roode only to have Storm challenge Angle instead. I like Angle’s attempted mind games with Roode continuing. I’m still going with Roode winning at BFG and maybe I’m being to optimistic but it’s time to give Roode his shot. That match could very well have the feel of Joe-Angle from Lockdown ’08.
There was a lot going on tonight and while a lot of stuff has been set up for BFG already, nothing other than Angle-Storm was very good tonight.
If I had to guess about the full card from right now (not looking at spoilers) I would say BFG ends up: Roode vs. Angle, Sting vs. Hogan, Aries vs. TBA, Mexican America vs. Ink Inc., Knockouts 4-Way, RVD vs. Lynn, Anderson vs. Ray, and AJ vs. Daniels.
