Another TNA star finishing up at Slammiversary on Sunday

Brian Fritz of Sporting News is reporting that James Storm has requested and been given his release from TNA and will be finishing up with the company at the Slammiversary PPV tomorrow night in Orlando. Storm, who’s remained one of the TNA originals on the roster for the last 13 years, approached TNA management about his release at the Impact Wrestling tapings this past week in Orlando on Thursday.

Storm will have his final TNA match with Magnus at the Slammiversary PPV tomorrow night. He joins Magnus as another roster member also finishing up with the company on Sunday night. Austin Aries’ current TNA deal also reportedly expires on Sunday as well.

Regarding a report yesterday stating that Magnus (Nick Aldis) is expected to sign a deal shortly with Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling, it appears he will simply be accepting dates with the promotion including on 7/24 in Las Vegas and will remain a free agent.

As noted earlier, the potential of a partnership between GFW and TNA appears to be in the works with Jeff Jarrett’s recent return and involvement at Slammiversary tomorrow night. TNA appears to be in the midst of another cost-cutting sceneario with talent.

Jeff Jarrett is scheduled to be at the Impact Wrestling tapings today. Morale was described as being bad among staff by bringing Jarrett back in after privately “burying him” the last 18 months since his original departure from the company to start up GFW.
