Predictions from the Faculty
TNA Against All Odds 2012 Edition
February 12, 2012
Predictions by: Wrestleview Columnists and Staff
Written by: Anthony J. Valvo of Wrestleview.com
Introduction
Welcome to the FIRST edition of “Predictions from the Faculty” (Season #4). This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming TNA Pay-Per-View, as we will provide our selections for Against All Odds. The show will be held at The Impact Zone in Orlando, FL.
The card is currently booked to have seven matches.
In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists on Wrestleview provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate the records throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case, the 2013 Royal Rumble).
What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. You can participate by contacting by any means under the “Dismissal” portion of this piece. The winner among the “Wrestleview Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks as a “Student of the Week” (if they outright defeat the reigning Students of the Week). We all thank you for your participation.
Tie-Breakers will determine standings!
I have decided to prevent some tiebreakers, I will issue points to Title Matches that are predicted correctly. There will be four championship matches on the card, so the maximum amount of points to go along with the win/loss standing will be FOUR points. Also, if I throw out a pick for a championship, then obviously no bonus will be counted for that particular match.
But wait, to the Wrestleview “students”, there is more!
I got approval for this decision, and for the SECOND time in our three seasons the students will compete for PRIZES!!! That is right; we felt that your loyalty to the article shall be rewarded. However, the prizes* will not be handed out until the FINAL PPV Prediction of the season (which will be WWE’s Royal Rumble 2013). So not only will one get a chance to earn a Gold Star and be a part of this game, but it will be for a competition.
*Prizes go out to the top three (the most picked correctly and if needed tiebreaker points) positions and the worst (most matches picked incorrectly with the fewest tiebreaker points).
Before Season Four begins, let’s recap who ranked where last season.

Predictions for TNA’s Against All Odds
*** NON-TITLE MATCHES ***
Singles Match
Garett Bischoff vs. Gunner
Jose M. – GARETT BISCHOFF. I have to say with the eception of Bischoff missing a month this has to be the most one sided feud ever. Has Gunner even won a single match?
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – GARETT BISCHOFF.
Anthony V. – BISCHOFF. I cringe at this because I am a fan of Gunner, but it appears that TNA wants to, for some unknown reason, push Bischoff as a superstar.
Jason N. – GARETT BISCHOFF.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – GARETT.
Greg M. – GARETT BISCHOFF.
Evan O. – GUNNER.
Darragh O. – GUNNER.
Matt O. – GARETT BISCHOFF.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: BISCHOFF 7-2. Crazy it may seem, the majority of the staff is going for the youthful Bischoff over the more established Gunner.
Singles Match
AJ Styles vs. Kazarian
Jose M. – KAZARIAN.
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – AJ STYLES.
Anthony V. – KAZARIAN. Usually I would pick Styles, but Kaz got the “Daniels Factor” working for him. I don’t think Daniels allows him to take it easy on Styles.
Jason N. – KAZARIAN.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – KAZ.
Greg M. – AJ STYLES.
Evan O. – AJ STYLES.
Darragh O. – KAZ.
Matt O. – AJ STYLES.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: KAZARIAN 5-4. This was very close, but due to Christopher Daniels being associated with Kazarian (and being under the skin of AJ Styles) the staff was nearly split, but gave the slight edge to Kazarian.
Singles Match
Stipulation: Winner becomes the #1 Contender for the TNA X Division Championship
Jesse Sorenson vs. Zema Ion
Jose M. – ZEMA ION because how many title shots can Jess Sorenson receive?
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – ZEMA ION.
Anthony V. – ION. Zema Ion worked a lot of matches in the Pittsburgh area. So by principle I will choose him as the next #1 contender (probably will have it on an Impact taping).
Jason N. – JESSE SORENSON.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – SORENSON.
Greg M. – JESSE SORENSON; the only X-Divisioner that seems to understand pacing.
Evan O. – ZEMA ION.
Darragh O. – JESSE SORENSON.
Matt O. – JESSE SORENSON.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: SORENSON 5-4. Yet in another very close decision, the staff chose Sorenson to get slightly over on the rising X Division wrestler in Ion.
*** CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES ***
Singles Match for the TNA Knockout’s Championship
Gail Kim (c) vs. Tara
Jose M. – GAIL KIM just because I think the plan is still to do the Gail vs. Traci Brooks feud.
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – GAIL KIM.
Anthony V. – KIM. This one is a pick ’em. But I will go with the champion because of possible interference by Madison Rayne. Honestly, Rayne will be the factor.
Jason N. – GAIL KIM.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – GAIL KIM.
Greg M. – GAIL KIM.
Evan O. – GAIL KIM.
Darragh O. – GAIL KIM.
Matt O. – GAIL KIM.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: KIM 9-0. Though Tara got a bit of the upper hand on her rival, the staff overwhelmingly predict Gail Kim as the champion when it is all over.
Tag Team Match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship
Crimson and Matt Morgan (c’s) vs. Samoa Joe and Magnus
Jose M. – I want to say Joe and Magnus but for some reason I think it will stay with CRIMSON AND MORGAN.
Mike T. – N/A
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – CRIMSON AND MATT MORGAN.
Anthony V. – JOE and MAGNUS. Crimson and Morgan is just not getting any positive reactions at the moment and I smell a feud between them shortly. Joe and Magnus are surprisingly the better team and should get their chance right now.
Jason N. – JOE & MAGNUS.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – JOE/MAGNUS
Greg M. – CRIMSON AND MATT MORGAN; so, did TNA really end Crimson’s streak on some random tag match, on Impact?
Evan O. – CRIMSON AND MATT MORGAN.
Darragh O. – CRIMSON AND MATT MORGAN.
Matt O. – JOE AND MAGNUS.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: CRIMSON/MORGAN 5-4. Man, we have a lot of close scores here. Many may be surprised that the challengers have a legitimate shot in this match, given Crimson’s streak that ended (albeit quietly) a couple weeks ago. The champions are predicted to find a way to get the upper hand.
Singles Match for the TNA X Division Championship
Austin Aries (c) vs. Alex Shelley
Jose M. – ALEX SHELLEY because there is just no one left for Austin.
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – AUSTIN ARIES.
Anthony V. – ARIES. As I said before, no one can match the work ethic and personality of one A-Double in the X Division. Shelley may be the best contender, but Aries retains.
Jason N. – AUSTIN ARIES #TGMTEL
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – ARIES.
Greg M. – AUSTIN ARIES; and I don’t even like the guy…
Evan O. – AUSTIN ARIES.
Darragh O. – ARIES (I want Shelly to win, that said.)
Matt O. – AUSTIN ARIES.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: ARIES 8-1. Shelley made a strong return after missing a lot of time due to injury, and our reigning “Dean of Wrestleview” thinks the title will change hands. However, the rest predicts that the title will be retained by Aries.
Four-Way Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Bobby Roode (c) vs. Bully Ray vs. James Storm vs. Jeff Hardy
Jose M. – BOBBY ROODE.
Mike T. – N/A.
Gregory W. – N/A.
Dave S. – BOBBY ROODE.
Anthony V. – ROODE. I think this “Selfish Generation” work has been excellent for Roode. I say he will pick up the scraps from someone who hits their finisher. I hope booking does not make this difficult.
Jason N. – BOBBY ROODE.
Josh B. – N/A.
Nick G. – BOBBY ROODE.
Greg M. – BOBBY ROODE; He & Storm simply have to have a date with the cage, next month. Even TNA can’t screw that up, right? Right?
Evan O. – BOBBY ROODE.
Darragh O. – BOBBY ROODE (Hardy may win, just to screw with everyone.)
Matt O. – BOBBY ROODE.
Austen A. – N/A.
CONSENSUS: ROODE got all 9 votes. In this “Era of Selfishness”, Roode is the most fitting World Champion for TNA Impact Wrestling. The end result makes sense.
