Update (3:20 p.m. ET): TNA President Dixie Carter has added her thoughts on the whole “fake” Hulk Hogan on Twitter debacle earlier today: “Recent twitter of Hulk Hogan leaving TNA is bogus. To what extreme people will go.”
Update (2:50 p.m. ET): To follow up on our last update, we have confirmed Hogan is indeed in Tampa and stayed at facility (which we will not name for privacy reasons) for around four hours earlier this morning to prepare for back surgery tomorrow.
Update (2:20 p.m. ET): We just received word that Hogan is in Tampa, FL today and in pre-op for surgery that will take place tomorrow.
Update (2:15 p.m. ET): The “fake” Hulk Hogan Twitter account has now pulled the messages about having meetings with TNA management about leaving the company along with Bischoff.
We just noted moments ago that what was believed to be the official Twitter account of Hulk Hogan that an announcement was made he had parted ways with TNA Wrestling along with Eric Bischoff.
Eric Bischoff himself promoted this Twitter account and has now stated the account to be a fake. Bischoff added, “The Hogan twitter site that I posted is a fake one. Hulk IS getting a Twitter page up, but the most recent post is a fake. I will post the REAL page info as soon as we get it. Sorry for the confusion.” Other wrestling personalities had been promoting the Hogan Twitter account as legitimate throughout the day yesterday and into this afternoon. We apologize for the error.
