Beginning in 2018, Wrestleview.com will return to monitoring and reporting on any stories making the rounds among the wrestling media. These stories will be clearly marked as a “rumor” (as highlighted in the image above) for reference.
Rey Mysterio is scheduled and has reportedly agreed to terms with WWE to make an appearance at the upcoming Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27 from Saudi Arabia according to a new report by PWInsider.com on Thursday.
Mysterio, who was said to be backstage at WrestleMania 34 this past Sunday in New Orleans, has been in negotiations with WWE since February about making a return to the company after being a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble back in January.
Whether or not Mysterio will be wrestling at the event remains to be seen. Mysterio has been battling an injury to his left bicep following an appearance for Northeast Wrestling back in early March, forcing him to pull out of a New Japan event in Long Beach.
Mysterio made an appearance on “Below the Belt” on Showtime recently with host Brendan Schaub where he ruled out an appearance at WrestleMania 34 based on his current bicep injury, but did confirm he was hopeful of making a full-time return to WWE.
As reported earlier, the Greatest Royal Rumble event will air live in two weeks (April 27) on the WWE Network beginning at Noon Eastern (11:00 a.m. CT). The card has seen a number of additions and changes this week alone, including the announcement today that Chris Jericho will replace Rusev against The Undertaker in a casket match.
