WWN Alerts – August 5th, 2015
We have a special edition WWN Alerts focusing on a new video we just released. This video features a candid discussion with new EVOLVE & DGUSA Champion Timothy Thatcher. We’ve seen Thatcher revolutionize the EVOLVE style with his throwback influences, but we’ve barely heard him talk. What makes him tick? What is his past? What is a typical day like for him? We ask the questions and include match highlights that show Thatcher’s journey to the top. Let’s get to it….
August 5th: Timothy Thatcher is set for his first weekend on top of EVOLVE in less than two weeks. It’ll be Thatcher vs. Zack Sabre Jr. for the EVOLVE Title on August 15th in Queens, NY. This is a rematch of their 2014 Match Of The Year, which Sabre Jr. won. Then on August 16th at in Deer Park, NY it’ll be the final showdown between Thatcher and rival Biff Busick. This promises to be the most intense fight ever between these two as it is No Holds Barred. The last time they were in the ring together, Thatcher suffered an ear injury and lost five weeks out of his career. Tickets are on sale now in the DGUSA.tv Store or by calling 267-638-6583. August 5th: Finally, we are proud to have two new partners at www.WWNLive.com. Watch these events now:
First, WWNLive now plays host to Tier 1 Wrestling. Tier 1 Wrestling is a fusion of entertainment, hard-hitting action, awe-inspiring athleticism, and opportunity. The Tier 1 “type” of performer is limited only to the amount of effort they put forth between the ropes and they’re gathering some of the best established and up-and-comings stars of independent wrestling to bring professional wrestling in the Big Apple – and the whole world – to a whole new level.
Tier 1 Wrestling’s debut show, ‘A New Hope’, was the launch pad of a revolution in pro-wrestling. On a night where the first ever Tier 1 Champion was crowned in an all-out war of a Four-Way Elimination Match, controversy would reign supreme in the end. After the final bell of the night sounded, things got very real, very fast. How often is New York City caught in a stunned silence? Also, a battle between two of pro-wrestling most agile and aggressive beasts kept the fans on the edge of their seats. A vibrant young upstart had a breakout performance, and earned the respect of a well-known and respected veteran. Stars of the present and future collided. The fusion of proven commodities and hungry young upstarts created an electric environment; one that truly catapulted Tier 1 Wrestling into the brightest spotlight of NYC, and a prominent place on the landscape of independent wrestling the world over. A New Hope was an homage to the incomparable energy of the Big Apple, and the undeniable allure of pro-wrestling done right. Check out the VOD for just $7.99!
Second, WWNLive is excited to host the International Wrestling Federation. IWF presents a unique mix of literally the biggest names in independent professional wrestling! Back in January 2015, at IWF Chosen One from the Arizona Event Center in Mesa, Arizona, they held what may arguably be the biggest one night tournament of the year: the 8 man tournament to crown the first IWF World Champion. The brackets featured wrestling superstars Uhaa Nation, Matt Sydal, Chris Hero, Drew Galloway, Brian Cage, ACH, Biff Busick and Tommaso Ciampa and culminated with an elimination 4-way to crown the first ever IWF Champion. The show also featured an instant classic as The Young Bucks took on Trevor Lee and Shane Strickland, along with two other big matches as Joey Ryan faced Shaun Ricker (TNA’s Eli Drake) and Matt Cage faced Jakob Austin Young.
