Mark Briscoe is challenging Claudio Catagnoli for the Ring of Honor World Championship at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.
During the July 6 episode of ROH Television that aired on HonorClub, Eddie Kingston told Mark Briscoe to step up and go after the ROH World Title at the Death Before Dishonor PPV. Kingston then said the fans need Mark to be the next ROH World Champion.
In a backstage interview with Renee Paquette, Mark said he was ready for the challenge and wanted to follow in his brother Jay’s footsteps. He then said it was his time to go after the ROH World Championship. Claudio Castagnoli then appeared and warned Mark to not listen to Kingston. Castagnoli then said that if he needed to pull Mark down from reaching for the sky, he would do it. He said if Mark wants the match, then he could shake his hand. Mark shook Castagnoli’s hand, making the title match official for the pay-per-view.
