According to PWInsider on Thurday, AEW did as much as they were allowed by Warner Bros Discovery. The network has been resistant in having the Briscoes on AEW programming.
The only time the Briscoes were ever shown on AEW television were short clips from an ROH PPV. Tony Khan told the live crowd in Fresno last Wednesday nigth that the Celebration of Life for Jay would just be the first, so ROH has something else planned for the future.
AEW rushed to bring Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman to Wednesday night’s Dynamite so they could be on commentary for the Jay Briscoe Celebration of Life broadcast that will be released free on HonorClub and YouTube in the near future. The promotion wanted to bring in others, however due to the fact they were in Fresno, CA, it was not logistically possible to get them across the country in time to actually work the taping.
It is being said the speech Adam Cole did at the taping was “absolutely incredible.”
PWInsider has confirmed the legitimacy of a donation drive being done Jay Briscoe’s family.
The funds raised will go towards the care of his daughters, who were both critically injured in the car accident that took Jay’s life.
