A new retrospective has been uploaded on the Wrestlespective channel on YouTube, covering the history of Smoky Mountain Wrestling.
The video, the latest in the channel’s Defunct Championship Wrestling, covers the origins of the Appalachian-based territory founded by Jim Cornette, Sandy Scott, and Rick Rubin in October 1991, its partnerships with WCW, the NWA, and the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), and the eventual downfall in 1995.
SMW became the home of a number of talents that later found fame in WCW, WWF/WWE, and ECW, such as Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Kane, Chris Candido, and New Jack to name just a few.
