SUMERIAN has released the first teaser for the upcoming Mildred Burke biopic Queen of the Ring, starring Emily Bett-Rickards.
The synopsis of the film, which sees former NWA Women’s Champion and current AEW talent Kamille take on the role of Burke’s rival June Byers, is as follows:
In a time when pro wrestling for women was illegal all over the country, a small town single mother embraces the danger to change culture as she dominates America’s most masculine sport to become the first million dollar female athlete in history.
A number of other wrestlers and wrestling personalities are a part of the cast for the biopic, including Trinity “Naomi” Fatu, Toni Storm, Mickie James, Britt Baker, and Jim Cornette.
Queen of the Ring, directed by Ash Avildsen and produced by Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins, BD Gunnell, and Jim Ross, is slated for a March 2025 theatrical release, with an official trailer coming next month.
