Foley to attend Hall of Fame in Waterloo this July

Mick Foley commits to attending hall of fame event in Waterloo, Iowa

One of the biggest superstars in professional wrestling history will be the master of ceremonies at the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame induction banquet. The event is being held at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday, July 23 at 6 p.m.

Foley received the Frank Gotch Award last year. The award goes to a professional wrestler who brings positive recognition outside the ring.

Foley will make his second appearance in Waterloo for the event.

“I am excited about returning to Waterloo and I hope fans will participate in this historic weekend,” said Foley.

Terry Funk, Jim Ross, Gerald Brisco, Jim Duggan, Larry Hennig, Maurice “Mad Dog” Vachon, Jim Raschke, Danny Hodge, Dan Gable, Pat Miletich, Bob Roop, and Fritz Von Goering have also confirmed that they will attend the banquet.

This year’s induction class includes Dory Funk, Jr., Gorilla Monsoon, Jim Duggan (Frank Gotch Award), Jim Ross (Lou Thesz Award), Pat Miletich (George Tragos Award), and Scott Teal (Jim Melby Award).

Saturday, July 23

9 a.m. – Mixed Martial Arts seminar in the Dan Gable Teaching Center inside the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum with Greg Halsor. Wrestling legend Danny Hodge will provide instruction at the beginning of the seminar.

A special presentation of Takedown Wrestling Radio with Scott Casber and Gerry Brisco will take place during the training seminar. Both the clinic and the live radio program are open to the public.

12:30 p.m. – Wrestling round table discussion with professional wrestling legends hosted by Brian Hoops of Torch Nostalgia at the Hall of Fame

1:30 p.m. – Autograph signing with professional wrestling legends at the Hall of Fame

Adam Martin, Editor in Chief of Wrestleview.com, will broadcast live during the autograph signing on the Wrestleview Radio Network at www.wrestleview.com. Martin is scheduled to be joined periodically by the various Hall of Famers in attendance.

5 p.m. – Reception for at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center

7 p.m. – Induction ceremony at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center
