NWA performer Joseph Hudson, known as Jocephus and The Question Mark, passes away

Jocephus passes away

Joseph Hudson, the professional wrestler known as “Jocephus” and “The Question Mark” in the National Wrestling Alliance has passed away.

The news was confirmed by NWA President Billy Corgan.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I share that my friend and brother in wrestling, Joseph Hudson, has passed away suddenly from an as-yet undiagnosed medical issue. NWA fans would know him as Jocephus as well as The Question Mark; where thanks to the great fans GPB Studios in Atlanta, Joseph was able to receive the kind of support in the ring he’d always dreamt of. He is survived by a young son whom he loved dearly, and if anything would pain him about leaving this Earth it would be not being able to be there for his boy. RIP Joseph, love to you and Godspeed.”

Dutch Mantell would later post on his social media that the cause of death is believed to either be a stroke or an aneurysm.

Hudson made his professional wrestling debut in 2009. Known as Jocephus Brody (a tribute to the late Bruiser Brody), he would wrestle on the independent circuit for a number of years before joining with Jeff Jarrett’s short lived Global Force Wrestling. Hudson would work with a number of talents, including Jarrett, and even appeared at the One Night Only Victory Road event in 2016.

Signing with the National Wrestling Alliance shortly after its purchase by Billy Corgan, Hudson would feud with NWA Champion Tim Storm as just Jocephus, dropping the Brody surname, and have two title matches against him. Hudson would later portray a character known as The Question Mark, which got over to the point he was teamed up with Aron Stevens.

Hudson did not wrestle after the COVID-19 pandemic forced NWA to stop their tapings.

He also appeared in the first episode of Dark Side of the Ring as the Bruiser Brody reenactor.

On behalf of the staff of Wrestleview, we send our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Joseph “Jocephus” Hudson.
