Gunkel & Fuller came on later claiming the Assassins were dodging them because they were scared. Dale Lewis issued a challenge to whoever should win the match between El Mongol and the Professional, scheduled to take place on January 24, 1969. Lewis, despite being the Georgia Heavyweight Champion, said he felt he was slipping as a contender for Gene Kiniski??’s NWA World Heavyweight Title due to recent non-title wins by Mongol and the Pro over the World champ, and wanted the chance to prove he was still the top man in Georgia. Jack Crawford managed Dale Lewis & Seiji Sakaguchi.
