Dave Meltzer is reporting that Ricky Steamboat will be inducted into the 2009 class of WWE’s Hall of Fame, with Ric Flair inducting him. This means Flair will not be inducting Steve Austin, as speculated previously.

In a press release, Phil Shatter says ?it is a blessing to be part of a 60-year tradition? in regard to his recent win of the NWA National Heavyweight Title. Pointing out that names like Paul Orndorff, Ted DiBiase, Ron Garvin, and others have also held claim to a version of the title, he added that he will ?keep pushing so one day I can stand along the greats and call myself a legend.? He thanked fans for their support, while promising to ?carry this trophy with much pride and my head held high?.
