Tim Dix, along with Rich Tate, featured Brian Corley, who recapped this past weekend’s qualifying for NASCAR’s Daytona 500, while also previewing the season kick-off, which takes place Sunday. Also discussed were the local sports teams and top colleges, as well as touching on former Falcon Jamal Anderson’s arrest, the status of Tom Glavine’s contract offer from the Braves, and the news of A-Rod’s failed 2003 test for steroids. World Wrestling Entertainment‘s SmackDown/ECW crew will be in Fresno, CA, at the Save Mart Center, tonight. WWE results from the RAW broadcast at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA, on February 9: Ric Flair opened the show talking about his final match at last year’s WrestleMania, and is cut off by Chris Jericho, who proceeds to insult Flair until Flair snaps, decks Jericho, and sends him packing; Beth Phoenix & Jillian over Melina & Kelly Kelly ? it was announced that Phoenix gets a rematch for Melina’s WWE Women’s Title on RAW next week; JBL tells Shawn Michaels he controls him and he has set him up in a match with Mark Henry later in the show; Legacy comes out, and Randy Orton says he cannot be stopped by a McMahon or the Undertaker, vowing to beat Undertaker later in the show and also to win the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania; Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Jr, over Cryme Tyme; Chris Jericho, Mike Knox & Kane over John Cena, Kofi Kingston & Rey Mysterio, Jr.; Stephanie McMahon is shown backstage talking on her cell phone to someone, saying she can handle herself; Mark Henry over Shawn Michaels by disqualification, after Michaels intentionally got disqualified by bringing in a chair and using it ? there was yet another nose-to-nose promo with JBL reminding Michaels that he owns him, and also uses his wife as bait to get Michaels to lose his cool, but it didn?t work; CM Punk over William Regal to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole get in some plugs for ?the Wrestler? and Mickey Rourke’s accolades; and the Undertaker over Randy Orton by disqualification when Rhodes and DiBiase, Jr., hit the ring, only to end with Shane McMahon once again clearing the ring to end the show.
WWE results from the RAW house show at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, CA, on February 8: CM Punk over William Regal to retain the WWE Inter-Continental Heavyweight Title; John Morrison & the Miz over Goldust & GoldHaas to retain the WWE World Tag Team Title; Mark Henry over Tommy Dreamer; Kofi Kingston & Rey Mysterio, Jr., over Mike Knox & Kane; WWE ECW Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger versus Finlay ended in a no contest in a title match; Beth Phoenix over Kelly Kelly; and John Cena over Randy Orton & Chris Jericho in a three-way to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
Shortly after the incident in Victoria, BC, on Saturday following a WWE event, between Chris Jericho and some fans, local police arrested Kalen Johl and his girlfriend Ashley Levey, but they were later released. Local law enforcement reports the incident is still under investigation. Levey told authorities that Jericho spit on her before punching her, and Johl, of South Asian descent, says Jericho made an ethnic slur toward him. No formal charges have been filed against any party as of this writing.

Paul Jones joined Solie to announce that a rematch had been scheduled for the Georgia Heavyweight Title tournament later that night in Griffin, as a result of the ending of the match between Mr. Wrestling #2 and the Zodiac from February 3, 1973. He said that after the events of that night, he had conferred with Sam Muchnick, and both agreed the only real solution to clear up the situation was a rematch.
