Douglas Williams, most known to wrestling fans during his run in TNA, has officially announced his retirement after yesterday’s PROGRESS event at the SSE Arena.
Williams is a former TNA Tag Team Champion with Brutus Magnus (aka Nick Aldis) and two-time X Division Champion during his run with the company that started in 2008.
He announced he would retire if he couldn’t beat Trent Seven for the Atlas Championship in London. Williams ended up losing the match over the weekend.
Williams shared the following on Twitter.
Overwhelmed by the amazing response I have received. Some totally unexpected! I will take this moment to formally announce my retirement. I am finished in the UK now but still have some international bookings to fulfil. Thank you once again and keep supporting British Wresting!
