NJPW no longer will air on AXS TV after deal between the two has expired

As first reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio and now confirmed to POST Wrestling by AXS TV, NJPW will no longer air on the television network after the agreement between the two sides expired on December 31, 2024.

A representative for AXS TV shared the following with POST Wrestling:

We will not be airing New Japan Pro Wrestling for the foreseeable future.  Our agreement expired at the end of 2024.  And we do not comment on the state of current or future agreements.

AXS TV first began airing NJPW back in 2014 with English-language commentary from Mauro Ranallo and Josh Barnett. The commentary team later changed to Jim Ross, Chris Charlton, and Kevin Kelly.

Back in late 2019, NJPW left AXS TV after Anthem Sports and Entertainment purchased majority ownership of the network. In 2022, the two sides came into a new agreement to have NJPW back on the network.
