CHIKARA: An Appeal to our Fans and Friends
This past weekend, we closed the books on our 7th year of live events, and started the 8th. We’ve only endured this long thanks to the support of our great fans worldwide, who support us by coming to see us live, and by following us on DVD and through CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go.
In the aftermath of our Sunday event, “Aniversario Yang,” several fans joined us for photographs, autographs and good ol’ fashioned chitchat. During this time, a party unknown to us absconded with a piece of luggage from the stage area, that contained, among other things, the gear of Green Ant, a new addition to the CHIKARA family. If anyone saw the party in question, or can supply us with information leading to the recovery of the luggage and its contents, we’d REALLY like to hear from you. We’re not interested in making a big fuss, we just want to help our guy get his stuff back.
The wait for “Behind the 8 Ball” (from Easton) and “Bobliographon” (from Philadelphia) is over – the official DVD’s are available now at Smart Mark Video! APPEARING LIVE will be 2009 WWE Hall Of Famer “The Birdman” Koko B Ware, Former ECW/WWE superstars Sabu, Nunzio, Balls Mahoney, Julio Dinero, The Zombie, and The Sandman, Former Smackdown star Kizarny, Former TNA Knock Outs So Val Val and Roxxi, former WCW star Missy Hyatt, Wrestling Legend Ox Baker, Former Pro Boxing Champion Butterbean, and many more.
With his Reality Check teammates banned from the building by PWS Commissioner Iron Sheik, PWS Champion Devon Moore will have to defend his title in a Four Way Elimination Match against Grim Reefer, Balls Mahoney, and the masked Deadpool! Devon Moore has been reigning as PWS Champion for 13 months with victories over Kenny Omega, B-Boy, Sabu, M-Dogg 20, and Sonjay Dutt amongst others. All three of Devon’s opponents for this Friday night have been gunning for his title for months and with his Reality Check teammates Kevin Matthews + Tommy Suede banned from the building (and his other RC teammate Danny Demanto being fired from PWS) this one is expected to turn into a numbers game putting Devon at a disadvantage. However, Devon has consistently beaten the odds for 13 months and with this match going Elimination Rules, any of these four men have a legit chance walking out as PWS Champion.
Former Pro Boxing Super Heavyweight Champion (star of K1, star of UFC, 5x Strong Man Champion, reality show star, etc etc) Butterbean will be making his first time ever appearance in the Tri-State Area and has issued an open challenge to ANYONE in the PWS Locker Room! Fans we will be honest with you here; originally PWS planned to have Butterbean go up against Matt Morgan whom badly wanted to be part of this event as he and Paul E Normus were friends, but however due to a very unfortunate car accident, Morgan cannot compete on Friday night. So who will it be? Who will have the guts to get into the ring with this 400 plus pound human wrecking machine? Keep in mind folks that Butterbean has legit knocked out former WWE stars Bart Gunn and Sean O’Haire in a matter of seconds and in addition to his power punches, Butterbean also has an arsenal of submission manuevers. Butterbean defeated former Wrestling Society X star Aaron Aguilera via submission in a MMA contest!
20 superstars will be competing in the over the top rope elimination E-Normus Rumble Match! These stars include former ECW/WWE superstar Sabu, former ECW/WWE superstar The Sandman, the first man to ever compete in the ECW ring on Sci-Fi The Zombie, former undefeated WWE Smackdown star Kizarny, Paul E Normus’ former manager Rocksha 337, Paul E’s former M.O.B. tag team partner Jimmy Jact Cash, nephew of Wrestling Legend Tito Santana, Jay Santana, the nephew of Wrestling Legend Baron Mike Sicluna Malta The Damager, Philadelphia’s hard hitting rising star “Chainsaw” Joe Gacey, NJ’s own “Big Juicy” Justin Corino, former WWE developmental talent The Russian Shooter Mr. Stronko, Paul E’s Team Captain during his last ever match up One Warrior Nation, Paul E’s teammate during his last match ever Earl Cooter, Paul E’s life long friend Chris Envy, Philly’s lightweight rising star Joey Ettell, one of the most unique wrestlers of all time Shockwave The Robot, and more!
FOUR WAY HARD HITTING WAR ACTION…. in a match that would probably main event in most other places, we will see a four way match between the returning Trent Acid, the hard hitting Steve “Monsta” Mack , former ROH Champion Xavier, and the PWS debut of one of the hottest guys on the North East independent scene “The New Horror” Sami Callihan! This 4 Way War will be a one fall fight to the finish with the first of these superstars to score a pinfall or submission walking out the winner.
Paul E Normus’ protege Timmy Aiight whom will be accompanied by former TNA Knock Out So Cal Val will face off against Paul E’s mentor, none other than former ECW star + former WWE Lightweight Champion Nunzio in what promises to be an action packed technical seesaw battle.
The PWS Tag Team Titles are up for grabs in a 4 Way Gauntlet Match between The Best Around (TJ Cannon & Bruce Maxwell), Air-O-Dynamic (Javi Air & The Dynamic Sensation), The Urban Legends (Devious & Wes Draven), and since All Money Is Legal (K Pusha & K Murda) are no longer available to compete in this matchup, a mystery tag team has been added! Who will this mystery tag team be? Will it be a team that’s been seen in PWS in the past or will it be fresh faces? The Urban Legends will have their manager Sony Records hip hop star Poison Pen in their corner. Poison Pen will also be doing a music video shoot for the song “Facebreaker” which will be the first single off his upcoming album “The Money Shot” to be released on August 4, which features Silkk The Shocker, M.O.P., and Immortal Technique!
Paul E Normus’ last two opponents EVER will be squaring off in singles action, and folks this one will be a stiff shot match up to say the least as we will see DJ Hyde collide with the mammoth savage Fala whom will have his new manager Wrestling Legend Ox Baker in his corner!
We will also see female action as Annie Social takes on the debuting Brooke Carter! Annie’s been on a recent hot streak in PWS however Brooke’s been creating quite a buzz throughout the NJ wrestling scene.
Also in singles action we will see a battle of two very charismatic Latino indy stars as Azrieal takes on his wrestling student Pinkie Sanchez in a Teacher vs Student Match. Both of these guys have made an impact in PWS and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top between these two technical stars.
And in a matchup of bad blood, it will be Dave Logan squaring off against Bandido Jr!
There it is folks, ten matches spanning the course of 3 hours. But wait there’s more….
This show will also have a handful of special appearances including;
2009 WWE Hall Of Fame Inductee “The Birdman” Koko B Ware, Former WCW star Missy Hyatt, Former TNA Knock Out Roxxi, and the wide receiver of The Super Bowl XXV winning New York Giants “The Touchdown Maker” Stephen Baker will also be in the house!
Plus something that independent wrestling hasn’t seen before. Fans in Garfield NJ will be getting a very special message from main roster star Shad of Cryme Tyme! Shad was indeed a close friend of Paul E’s and you don’t want to miss out on what he has to say about his fallen brother.
The action starts at 8pm…and for fans that arrive early, there will be a special Pre-Show Match starting at 7:45pm featuring four stars from PWS’ developmental territory UWA! As 4 Way Matches are a trend on the main show because Paul E wrestled in a 4 Way Match at PWS’ first show which was at The Garfield Boys & Girls Club, the pre-show match will be no different as we will see a 4 Way Rookie Dream Match featuring Diamondback, Qiz, Nick Impact, and Ruin! These four young starts have been itching to show PWS fans what they’re capable of and they finally have their chance this Friday night in Garfield, NJ!
Also fans between 7:00 – 8:00pm , PWS will be running a Meet & Greet with several stars including Butterbean, Kizarny, Ox Baker, Koko B Ware, Roxxi, Missy Hyatt, Balls Mahoney, So Cal Val, Sabu, Nunzio, The Zombie, and more! A full hour for fans to get autographs and photos with their favorite superstars before the show stars! There will also be another autograph session during the show’s intermission!
