IWF Pro Wrestling School Celebrates 10th Anniversary:
WWE Ring Hopefuls Hit the Mat at West Paterson Training Facility
(WEST PATERSON, NJ)- Aspiring wrestlers ready to rumble their way to fame and be the next Hulk Hogan can make championship dreams come true with Independent Wrestling Federation.
Established in 1999, IWF Pro Wrestling School in West Paterson trains hundreds of prospects from 20 states and nine countries that compete in bouts across the world. This December marks the 10th Anniversary of the famous facility, recognized as the premiere training school in the Northeast by countless television and news media outlets.
Kevin Knight, a 14-year veteran, leads classes three days a week covering basic holds and high-flying moves. 21 graduates performed on WWE Raw and SmackDown Television and Pay-Per-View events, including Knight, Fred Sampson, and Damian Adams.
“Wrestlers excel in our program and receive WWE tryout opportunities as a result of our first-rate training regimen, coupled with our friendly and safe environment,” said Knight. “Top graduates literally circle the globe, traveling to Canada, Puerto Rico and Japan.”
To supplement the year-round training program, IWF hosts clinics with major superstars. WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield, Hall of Famer Tito Santana, legendary Honky Tonk Man, and WWE talent scout Tom Prichard serve as guest instructors.
“IWF impresses me in many ways,” said WWE Trainer Tom Prichard. “Kevin Knight and everyone involved are constantly looking for ways to improve and help their students be the best. I enjoy doing clinics at IWF because I know the students are hungry and looking to better themselves. Kevin has taught these students the respect for the business and this is why I would recommend his people for extras and training partners for WWE Superstars.”
IWF produces family-friendly monthly live events where students showcase their skills for family and friends. IWF Centre also hosts Birthday Parties where children are treated to pizza, beverages, and a body-slammin? live event with IWF stars.
So far, 500 students hit the mat at 440 IWF events, and with year 11 brings more optimism that a lucky student will someday make it to the big stage at WrestleMania.
“At IWF School, they continue to provide top-notch training necessary to become a successful professional wrestler,” said Honky Tonk Man. “Desire comes from the heart and Kevin Knight is passionate about making sure these students are aware of the dedication you must possess?both mentally and physically?to work hard every day to improve in the ring as a performer.”
Graduates also appear in the entertainment industry as Justin Corino and Travis Blake starred on Nickelodeon shows Danny Phantom Ultimate Enemy, and WACK Wrestling. Kev Kage headlined as Rangers hockey mascot Bobby Granger on MSG Network, while Knight starred in Burger King Buckin Chicken commercial.
IWF School open to students ages 16 and up, and Youth Clinics are hosted each December, July and August for kids ages 12 to 17.
Future students interested in visiting the school can attend an upcoming live event, and meet with staff upon conclusion of the matches. For more information, visit www.WrestlingIWF.com.
