As I work with Top Of Texas Wrestling, which is an associate member of the National Wrestling Alliance, I try to keep up to date with all NWA news. As I was scrolling through my newsfeed, I came across this from the NWA Wrestling Facebook page. I figured I would send it to you guys, and I will try to keep you guys informed.
BREAKING NEWS: NWA President R. Bruce Tharpe is investigating a very serious matter that involves “Modern Day Hero” Kevin Douglas. Douglas, was injured at an NWA Houston event last night and sustained what appeared to be internal injuries. Reports from the NWA Houston locker room suggest that Douglas was spitting blood after a brutal attack by Scot Summers and Ryan Genesis. A subsequent trip to the hospital resulted in Douglas being admitted for treatment. As a result, Douglas was not able to make it to TN for his scheduled NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title Defense against Chase Owens tonight.
Tharpe is aware that a tournament has been announced and is currently taking place to crown a new champion. Tharpe is said to be meeting with Douglas before making an official statement about the situation. Tharpe has promised to address the matter publicly on Sunday October 14.
