10/6- Main Event Announced for Oct 15th.

CWE Title Match

CWE champion “Lucha Libre USA & SMASH star” Mentallo vs. Former CWE champion AJ Sanchez

The first match announced for CWE’s debut at Vince Leah Community Center is a big one! The brand new CWE champion will defend the title for the first time in Winnipeg against the man who lost the title just moments prior to Mentallo defeating Danny Duggan, AJ Sanchez.

The former and first ever champion has decided to waste no time in cashing in his official rematch clause in hopes of securing back the title he held for almost 8 months.

This match doesn’t come without history as the two spent a good portion of 2009 on opposite ends of the ring producing one of the top rivalries in CWE history as well as countless memorable matches that culminated in a hair vs. mask match with Sanchez ending up on the losing end.

Mentallo won the title in controversial fashion and now has the task of holding on to it against perhaps CWE’s most controversial competitor AJ Sanchez. Is this the beginning of a new era in CWE or just a small bump in the road for Sanchez in continuing his legacy?

*FULL RECAP of TWA Sept 25, 2010 Show by Brady Hicks

Heading into the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance (TWA)’s one year anniversary show this October 23rd–at the Flyers Skate Zone in Vorhees, NJ–it appears that one of the promotion’s most storied rivalries could finally come to a head in VIOLENT, DEMENTED Steel Cage match.

Since last April, “Hitman” Tony Stetson and his former friend Glen “The Beast” Osbourne have battled in a particularly brutal feud that seems like it may never end. Osbourne–who actually grabbed headlines just last week in Delaware by turning on East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) headliner Mega and costing him his ECWA title–actually did the same against former friend Tony Stetson last April when Stetson challenged Steve Corino for the title. Since that time, the two have engaged in a series of vicious battles, with one-on-one matchups, falls-count-anywhere brawls, and–on this night–a Last Man Standing fight that seemed too close to call and came down to Osbourne pulling Stetson’s feet out from under him, with a chain, at a nine count.

To date, it appears neither man is winning this difficult feud. The too-close-to-call battle has been both physically and emotionally draining for Stetson, who has now challenged his former ally to a Steel Cage match at TWA’s one-year anniversary show, October 23rd, at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ. “I’m hoping that, win, lose, or draw, this feud with Glen is finally going to come to an end next month,” said an exhausted Stetson. “I’m still expecting to win the match and the feud, but I’m hoping this will be the end of it.” Let’s all hope for some resolution.

It was also a night of glorious highs and difficult lows for TWA Heavyweight champion Breaker Morant, fresh off a strong showing in his tough title defense against the young, hungry Damian Dragon. As Morant stood to suck in the adulation of the Voorhees crowd, his attention was suddenly turned to Rob Dimension, fresh off his suspension for assaulting TWA Commissioner Joel Goodhart with a fork. Logically, Morant assumed Dimension was out at ringside to lobby for a return title-match for his longtime charge Steve Corino. What he never saw coming was “Beautiful” Bobby Shields, who nailed him in the back of his head with a ringside chair.

It seemed that Shields–fresh off a big win over luchadore Saber Cat earlier in the night–had his own eyes on Breaker’s TWA title belt. “I don’t know what kind of a ‘competitor’ would attack me from behind for no good reason,” commented the champion, backstage. “What I do know is that Shields will get what is coming to him in October in Voorhees. And if Rob Dimension is helping this guy out, then SO HELP THEM BOTH!!!”

Despite an obvious change in personality, recently, “Beautiful” Bobby Shields has remained unphased in his assertion that he will be TWA champion. Shields is an experienced, cagey competitor who has excelled in the ECWA and Ring of Honor. This experience was particularly apparent in his strong showing against intense lucha star Saber Cat, fresh off of his stint with MTV2’s Lucha Libre program. This thrilling match, which no doubt few thought Shields had a legitimate chance of winning, spilled out of the ring and through the arena barricade, before Shields pinned the Mexican star in the middle of the TWA ring. His match with Saber Cat demonstrated that (in more than just his own mind) Bobby Shields has arrived. The only real question now is what is fueling this new, aggressive side of Bobby Shields.

Has an alliance between the newly christened “Beautiful” Bobby and “The Certified Genius” Rob Dimension been forged? While only those two men know for sure at this time, what is known is both might want to consider staying out of Breaker Morant’s way come October.

Of course, Shields’ attack on Breaker Morant was not the only time TWA fans had seen Rob Dimension that night. The suspended manager made an appearance in the ring with Joel Goodhart, who–with Steve Corino–he had been accused of assaulting last July with a fork. Despite denying he would ever use such a barbaric weapon, Dimension and Corino were suspended from TWA at the time and–per fans’ voting on www.twaprowrestling.com–ordered to pay a fine of $2,500, each. On this night, however, Dimension would present Goodhart with a check to be reinstated. While Goodhart addressed the TWA fans, assuring them that no such violence would ever been witnessed again, Dimension was spotted near the camera making a very distinct stabbing motion behind the Commish. While it is very highly unlikely that Dimension is innocent of what he is now calling “Fork-gate,” the fact remains that Dimension has served his suspension and paid his debt to the TWA, and is now once again an active member of the TWA roster. That is, of course, pending his check to the TWA does not bounce!

A short while after his confrontation with Goodhart, Dimension was also spotted at ringside scouting TWA tag team champions The Best Around (TBA) in their successful defense against Matt Logan and Chase Del Monte (substituting for the injured Bryan Logan). It is still unknown whether Dimension is looking to assemble some sort of a stable in the TWA or–in his own worst-case scenario–find a replacement for Corino as his meal-ticket. What is known is that Dimension is certainly looking in the right direction.

Simply put, Bruce Maxwell and TJ Cannon’s brutal match against Logan and Del Monte was aptly considered by many at ringside to be THE BEST of the night. Ironically, had TBA not viciously assaulted The Logan Brothers and The Heavyweights the week prior at an East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) show in Newark, Delaware–breaking Bryan Logan’s hand in the process–the originally scheduled match against the ECWA tag team champions might have ended a little bit differently.

The TWA–and perhaps even all of America itself–took a bit of a hit as well on this night, as Kid America was assaulted by his opponents–The Berlin Bad Boys–and Mr. Ooh La La, “Canada’s Proudest Son” Jason Leigh, and Cujo the Hellhound, and had his mask stolen by Boys’ manager Carlton P. Hightower, who taunted him from ringside. All America could do was look on in horror and cover his face in a towel. Had it not been for backup from his tag partner The Blue Meanie and a handful of other TWA allies, Kid America’s identity might have been unfortunately revealed.

Backstage, America was furious by what he viewed as a very disrespectful act, and would quickly confront Hightower’s group in the locker room. In exchange for his getting back his mask, however, Kid America may have taken the ultimate risk. If Kid America’s team loses on October 23rd, he will be forced to unmask FOREVER and reveal his true identity to the world. On the flip side, if Kid America’s team is victorious, Kid America’s will have to get in the ring ALONE with CARLTON P. HIGHTOWER, to settle the score.

In other action, Shockwave The Robot had a strong showing against Mr. Ooh La La, who “treated” fans at the Flyers Skate Zone to a twisted, striptease prior to his match. Not only did Shockwave win his match against the fiery Frenchman decisively, with a legdrop from the top rope, but he also soundly defeated him in a dance-off, to the delight of children at ringside. … ECWA superhero Courageous Cruz–with “The Fighting Paramedic” Corey Blaze–gained a measure of revenge against “Canada’s Proudest Son” Jason Leigh, for his part in the attack against him at last week’s ECWA show in Newark, Delaware, when Cruz and Blaze defeated Leigh and his tag partner “Pitbull” Timothy Richards. … Finally, “The Hot Commodity” Julio Dinero pinned the newly renamed Matt Saigon (formerly Ryu Lee) to even the score after Saigon’s win in their other TWA matchup, last June in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

The full card included:
