The Miami Herald has an interview up with Marco Corleone (former WWE star Mark Jindrak) talking about his release from WWE in 2005 and his role with “Lucha Libre USA: Marked Warriors” on MTV2.
“In my career as a professional wrestler, I started young. It’s really the only profession I’d ever known. So what happens when you’re with a big company like WWE and you’re part of a big release? In 2005, I was one of 17 guys who got released. Imagine if you went to school to be a marketer in marketing, and all of a sudden, there are no opportunities to be a marketer anymore. I was a wrestler. The only thing I’d ever known in my profession was professional wrestling, and then, all of a sudden, no more WWE. TNA, at that point, wasn’t very popular. It was an upstart company, and it wasn’t something I really wanted to do. I wanted to be part of something big. I went to Mexico and had that opportunity — a second chance to make a first impression. I ran with it.”
