Independent Superstars Of Professional Wrestling sent this in:
TWO STARS FROM MICKEY ROURKE’S MOVIE THE WRESTLER SET TO BATTLE IT OUT IN A TABLES, LADDERS, AND CHAIRS MATCH ON APRIL 4TH IN FREEHOLD, NJ ON THE EVE OF WRESTLMANIA 25
Danny Inferno and Judas Young, two wrestlers that appeared in the movie The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke, are set to collide with one another on April 4th, 2009 in Freehold, NJ at the 3-2 Count Athletic Training Facility, located on 323A Fairfield Road. This match will highlight Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling’s long awaited return to the independent wrestling scene. Now this isn’t just any match. The two former best friends will be battling it out in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match with the winner becoming the new ISPW World Heavyweight Championship. There will also be a special guest referee for the contest, former five time ISPW Champion, Ace Darling.
Inferno and Young grew up together in the wrestling business. They were the best of friends since they were teenagers. Along with wrestling promoter Tommy Fierro and a few others, they were known as the New Jersey Kliq. They were inseparable. Inferno and Young would travel together, workout together, and have each other’s back no matter what went wrong in life. They were the type of friends that could sit in complete silence and know exactly what the other was thinking. They were closer than brothers.
As the years went on, they found their bond not to be as tight as it once was. Inferno moved down to Louisville , KY to work for Ohio Valley Wrestling with the dream of one day being signed by World Wrestling Entertainment. After a ton of hard work and determination, Inferno’s dream became a reality. Inferno was signed to a WWE developmental contra ct and continued to work in OVW before moving down to Atlanta, GA to compete for Deep South Wrestling, WWE’s other developmental operation at the time.
With Inferno, who was one of the bigger independent wrestling names on the East Coast for many years, out of the picture, Young stepped up his game and began getting noticed. Young transformed his appearance and got himself into the best shape of his life. Young’s phone started ringing off the hook from promoters in the area that wanted to showcase Young’s skills on their shows. Things seemed as though they couldn’t get better for Young.
Inferno then gets released from World Wrestling Entertainment.
Needless to say, Inferno didn’t take the news well. He waited his entire life to have the opportunity to perform for WWE, and before even having the chance to perform on a regular basis on Raw or Smackdown, it was taken away from him. Everything that Inferno worked so hard for all of these years had come to an end. At least that’s how Inferno viewed it at the time.
Inferno would return home to his native state of New Jersey a few months later. He wasn’t the same Inferno though that his friends had remembered him as. He had changed. To his credit, he was dealing with several personal problems at the time of his WWE release. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Inferno. His close friends didn’t like seeing the person he was turning into. Young was at the very top of that list.
“I do not know where to begin” says Judas Young. “I have been friends with Inferno for God knows how long. We have always seen eye to eye and been apart of the same team in many different promotions over our career. We are members of the New Jersey Kliq and our friendship dates back to our early teenage years. We damn near grew up together and share many of our fondest times in life as buddies. I can’t pick out the exact time in his life that left him on the wrong side of the tracks, other than his return to NJ from his developmental days with World Wrestling Entertainment in Kentucky and Georgia . Being let go by WWE had a huge effect on him and I think that may be when he took a turn for the worst. He just hasn’t been the same Inferno I once knew and it’s frustrating.”
The two reformed their once strong bond when they both got casted to be in The Wrestler movie. With both of them being very excited to be a part of what went on to be a very successful film, they realized that it was time to work out their differences. They were so proud of each other that the other had gotten the opportunity to be a part of a movie that was about their true passion in life. Their bond became stronger than it ever had.
“This is just so sad” says independent wrestling ring announcer Bruno Steel. “In the fall, they were side by side at the New York Film Festival premiere of The Wrestler. They high-fived each other as they appeared on screen in the film. They were so proud of each other. Now they can’t be put in the same room together. What the hell happened?”
That’s a good question.
Competition then enters the story. Competition is a rivalry between individuals that arises whenever two or more parties strive for a goal which cannot be shared. The goal was to be the top wrestler on the independent wrestling scene on the East Coast. The problem was both Inferno and Young were standing in each other’s way to achieving that goal. The two would wrestle each other on countless independent wrestling shows in the area, and after a while, the tension reached such a high level that their friendship exploded.
This past December at a wrestling event in Freehold, NJ, Inferno wrestled Young in a Texas Death Match. The two beat the living hell out of each other. In the end, Young came out on top to win the match. Afterwards, Young addressed his past with Inferno and wanted to end their heated feud and return to being friends. Young stressed how much respect he had for Inferno. When Young extended his hand, Inferno shook it and the two embraced. Inferno raised Young’s hand in victory and Young celebrated with the audience. When Young turned around, he was met with a fireball thrown in his face by Inferno.
“I have no remorse for what I did to Judas in December” Inferno says. “I made a statement and I reintroduced the world to Danny Inferno. I made Judas Young bleed; and then I burned him with a fire ball. Why? The world had forgotten about me. No matter where I have been or what I have done, the wrestling world had fo rgotten my name.”
“I know first hand, as I am on the receiving end of his hatred and bitter fueled punches and attacks” Young said. “I’m the one who suffered countless injuries and broken down ligaments due to the harsh beatings we placed on one another. I am the one left a bloody mess because he can’t control his temper and allowed his inner-most, personal demons get the best of him and gauge at my head with a sharp spike or tool or some sort. And it was I who was on the opposite side of a hellacious act of wickedness when he threw that fireball at my face, leaving me scorched for weeks, nearly blinded in my right eye.”
The General Manager of ISPW, Nicholas Nice, is confused as to how things got so bad between Inferno and Young. “I have known both men for a long time now. I have been up and down the road with both guys. I have seen them on their good days and I have seen them on their bad days. There is something very deep going on between the two. Is it the jealousy of the business? Could be! Is it the old verb age ‘stab your friend in the back to get ahead?? It may very well be. Or is it, ?keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer?? Who knows??
“Having personally seen many TLC matches in my years with the WWE, I can tell you that no match will tax these great combatants more than this one” says former WWE announcer Kevin Kelly. “Personally knowing both men, this is the match both Judas and Danny will tell their grandkids about. The fact that ISPW is bringing a match of this magnitude to Freehold speaks volumes about the promotion’s desire to bring the best out of the athletes they present and give the fans their money’s worth.”
“Boy, I’ll tell you, I?m really looking forward to this match” says former WWE superstar Nunzio. “I?ve known Inferno since the day he started in the business and I remember Judas Young way before he was a wrestler. I?ve watched these guys grow into the professionals they are today and I think they are going to have one hell of a match.”
“After witnessing their brutal Texas Death Match in December, I can?t think of any better way to try and put an end to the Judas Young/Danny Inferno feud then to let them battle it out in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match” says Brett Schwan from the Wrestling Clothesline. “To make it even more interesting, as if it needed to be, the winner will be crowned the new ISPW World Heavyweight Champion and former five time ISPW Champion Ace Darling will be the special guest referee..”
“This title meant everything to me” says Ace Dar ling, the special guest referee for this exciting match on April 4th in Freehold, NJ. “It represented wrestling as it should be, not a circus, but a great athletic and entertaining show. I had classic matches with Devon Storm, Chris Candido, 2 Cold Scorpio, Mikey Whipreck, Marty Jannetty, Headshrinker Samu, and both Judas Young and Danny Inferno over that title. There would be no way I would miss that match. Not only am I going to witness history, but I will be a part of history as the special guest referee. I will raise the hand of the winner and new ISPW Champion and wish him luck, because he has some big shoes to fill.”
“Inferno and Judas, I don’t really know what the combined ring time of these two are” says Josh Daniels. “I think that it’s only second to their knowledge and more importantly, their passion for professional wrestling. But sometimes in wrestling, things go beyond knowledge, passion, and competition. Sometimes things get personal. Sometimes things go beyond personal. That’s when a wrestling match becomes a war. I believe that’s exactly what the fans and wrestlers are in store for when they watch this match. Personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing the outcome of this war.”
“These two have waged a war throughout New Jersey in recent history, and on April 4th in Freehold NJ , they will continue that war” adds former ECW referee Mike Kehner. “Only this time a lot more will be at stake. This time, the ISPW World Heavyweight title will be the prize, and it will be in a TLC match. I can only hope that both of these men will come out in one piece, because I know that only one of them will come out as a champion.”
“In recent years, I have seen them share a mutual despise for one another” Nicky Benz said regarding Inferno and Young’s relationship. “I know that the past few years have seen these two men fight battles with each other, not just wrestling matches, but full on battles. These fights left them with horrific deep bruises, broken bones, stitches, and even burns. I’m glad that I get to see the physical action between these two take place in the ISPW ring with stipulations that can only insure a hard-hitting grudge match.”
“Over the past year I have had some outstanding matches with Judas Young” Inferno says. “I am not taking anything away from him, as I truly believe he is a great competitor. But that’s where it ends. I am better, and April 4th is the perfect opportunity to show the world exactly that. To say that Judas Young is in store for the most brutal beating of his life is an understatement. I plan on making a bigger impact that night than I ever have.”
Matt Rosenberg, co-owner of the 3-2 Count Athletic Training Facility, is excited to have this match at his facility on April 4th. “Only one thing is worse than two people that hate each other and that is two best friends that have turned on each other. That hatred is worse than any other. Now you mix that ex-friendship with a title belt that has been vacant for eight years hanging high above the ring? That smells like disaster.”
ISPW promoter Tommy Fierro can’t wait for this match on April 4th. “It’s a tough situation to be in, because I have been best friends with both of these guys since we were kids. I wanted to make an impact on April 4th for ISPW’s return show. I knew these two would deliver in a big way because the hatred they have for each other is real. Am I a horrible friend for taking advantage of their real life problems and showcasing them in my wrestling ring? Did I make matters worse by having that match be a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match? To top it all off, by including the ISPW World Heavyweight Championship as the prize for the winner of this match, did I pretty much insure that these two will do whatever it takes possible to each other to win? The answers to all of those questions are probably a yes. However, at the end of the day its business and ISPW is mine. May the best man win on April 4th.”
Judas Young is getting amped up just thinking about this upcoming match.
“I am getting a rise right now just thinking of the retaliation that will come about on April 4th in Freehold NJ for the ISPW Heavyweight Title” Young states. “This is not just a wrestling match, this is personal. My integrity, pride, and honor are on the line. I refuse to let what you did to me be buried as a memory. I am going to carry that with me when we meet on the eve of Wrestlemania 25 in a TLC match. Come hell or high water, I vow to not only seek revenge, but with every fiber of my body, to capture what is rightfully mine, something I have worked long and hard for, and that’s the ISPW Heavyweight Championship!”
“Speaking of championship belts, you can’t just walk into a Nieman Marcus store in the mall and purchase one” Young continues. “You can’t order one in a Saks Fifth Avenue catalog. It has to be earned. And I think, that for a long time, I have dedicated myself to the sport of professional wrestling and deserve to be recognized, once and for all, as the top dog in ISPW! I hold this company very dear to me as I have many great memories in the promotion and have been given many fantastic opportunities being associated with such a group. It would be a privilege to hold this title belt over my head in victory and proudly walk away declared as the new champion of such a fine, well-respected promotion.”
Danny Inferno is equally anticipating April 4th’s match.
“New Jersey has historically been a hotbed of pro wrestling and arguably sets the standard for everything out there that is not WWE” says Inferno. “In that vein, ISPW had been the leader in NJ wrestling for the better part of the 1990’s. With ISPW making its return, I feel that this is the opportunity I have been waiting for and rightfully deserve. I have wrestled all over the world, been under contract to WWE, appeared in magazines and television, wrestled the top names in this business, and was a featured wrestler in the movie, The Wrestler. There’s not much I have not touched on in my career. I would do anything to win that title.”
Both Inferno and Young’s real life story is far different then the Randy “The Ram” Robinson character that Mickey Rourke played in The Wrestler. Rourke’s character played a professional wrestler who was a major star in the 1980s, but who is now years past his prime and wrestling on the weekends for various independent wrestling promotions. Both of these athletes are in the prime of their careers. They are still climbing the ladder, no pun intended, to the very top of the professional wrestling industry. With both men playing a role in the movie that had featured a wrestler that was that exact opposite of them, it really makes this match even that more interesting.
Unlike Randy “The Ram” against The Ayatollah in The Wrestler movie, there will be a decisive winner in the Judas Young vs. Danny Inferno match on April 4th, in Freehold, NJ. The time has come for these two men to finally settle their differences. It just so happens that there are tables, ladders, and chairs involved as well. The two will battle it out, man to man, and the winner will be crowned the new ISPW World Heavyweight Champion.
“I lie awake at nights thinking about this day” Inferno said. “I train in the gym while other people are asleep. I am obsessed with this moment. The tables, ladders, and chairs match gives me goose bumps; it is the true test and the true opportunity to make an example of Judas Young and show the world what I have been saying all along is the truth and not just my opinion. It’s not a catch phrase, it’s not something I think is cool to say; I am what I say I am, I am the best on this planet; I am Danny Inferno, a name you will never forget! Witness the second coming of Danny Inferno on April 4th.”

Xfuel, the hot new energy drink for gamers, will also be on hand at ISPW’s return event on April 4th. Xfuel is the new official sponsor of ISPW and is very excited to be entering the world of professional wrestling with their product.
“Not only will a new champ be crowned on the night of April 4th, but the world of independent professional wrestling will be introduced to the latest of energy drinks” Young says. “That’s right! Xfuel is in town and the proud sponsor of not only ISPW, but yours truly, the punk from New York City, Judas Young! With an up-and-coming energizer like Xfuel, what better way than to be paired off with one of the spunkiest dudes in wrestling history? I am ecstatic about this relationship that has formed and look forward to whatever it may be that the future has in store for all parties involved. I have already began to include Xfuel in my daily training regimen and without giving any secrets away, plan on having it a part of my strategy to defeat my opponent in the ring and focus on ascending the top of the ladder to reach the gold that’s on the line.”
