TNA IMPACT Results – 1/2/25 (Fallout from Final Resolution and more!)

The #1 Contender for the TNA World Championship, Joe Hendry, kicks off the new year. Hendry vows to dethrone Nic Nemeth at Genesis, marking the beginning of the Joe Hendry era. Ryan Nemeth interrupts and accuses Hendry of tarnishing the reputation of his big brother. Hendry fires back, poking fun at Ryan’s comedy act. Hendry gets Rhino to come out early and his scheduled match against Ryan Nemeth starts now!

Rhino goes for an early Gore but Ryan escapes to the outside. Ryan shoves him face-first into the steel ring post to gain control. Back in the ring, Rhino drops Ryan with a TKO for two. Ryan introduces a steel chair but it comes back to haunt him. Rhino cracks him in the back with the chair, causing the disqualification.

Gia Miller introduces Jordynne Grace after she was blindsided by Tessa Blanchard at Final Resolution. Grace promises that if Tessa wants to show up tonight, she’ll be waiting to give her the warm welcome she deserves.

The Hardys accept a challenge from The Rascalz for a first-time-ever TNA World Tag Team Championship dream match at Genesis!

Two of the X-Division’s best collide as KUSHIDA takes on Ace Austin! The early advantage goes to Austin following a slingshot crossbody to the outside. KUSHIDA does serious damage with a Cross Armbreaker on the apron. Austin fights through the pain, connecting with a one-armed Gutwrench Powerbomb. KUSHIDA picks him off the top to secure an Armbar. Austin breaks free, then counters Back to the Future. Austin puts KUSHIDA away with The Fold.

After the match, Austin reveals an emotional moment shared between him and his longtime friend and tag team partner, Chris Bey. Moments before Bey went into his recent surgery, he told Austin to go on “one hell of a singles run”. Austin stakes his claim to the TNA World Championship when he’s interrupted by the X-Division Champion, Moose. Moose says that he currently holds the top title in TNA, the X-Division Championship. Tensions escalate when Moose begins to disrespect Chris Bey, leading to Director of Authority Santino Marella making this match official: At Genesis, Ace Austin will look to become a 4-time X-Division Champion when he challenges Moose!

Steve Maclin, Eric Young and Jonathan Gresham brawl with The System’s Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers and JDC.

Following a backstage confrontation, Director of Authority Santino Marella makes a big tag team match for next week: Nic and Ryan Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry and Rhino!

Mike Santana reflects on his altercation with Josh Alexander during the 4-Way #1 Contenders match at Final Resolution. Santana vows to become the standard of TNA Wrestling, when he’s interrupted by Alexander. Alexander reminds Santana of his shortcomings during his hiatus from TNA Wrestling. Santana claims that the only reason Alexander became the face of this company was because he was “kissing up to the man with the pencil”. Santana promises to go through the entire Northern Armory next week, just like he did to The System.

Director of Authority Santino Marella assigns a member of security to watch for Tessa Blanchard’s arrival.

Frankie Kazarian offers to mentor Leon Slater. Kazarian wants him to carry the Call Your Shot trophy but Slater turns him down.

The Knockouts take Center Stage for tonight’s huge 8-Knockout tag team main event! The match quickly breaks down as all 8 competitors brawl in the middle of the ring. Spitfire dive through the ropes, crashing into their opponents on the outside. The Personal Concierge creates a distraction, allowing Ash to attack Threat from behind. Threat is trapped in the corner as her opponents cut off the ring and employ quick tags. Threat creates separation, allowing her to make the tag to Grace. The pace quickens as Grace hits Ash with the Vader Bomb. Heather spikes Luna with a tornado DDT. Steelz hits the Blackout on Slamovich but Spitfire break the count. Slamovich plants Steelz with Requiem to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Tessa Blanchard once again makes her presence felt as she attacks Jordynne Grace from behind. Meanwhile, Rosemary sprays mist into the eyes of Masha Slamovich while Ash & Heather By Elegance assault Spitfire. Blanchard drags Grace down the arena’s loading ramp and tosses her outside. Blanchard shuts the overhead door before storming into the Knockouts locker room.
