Despite reports indicating a recent role as WWE producer, Nick Aldis stated during a recent podcast appearance that he was far from done with in-ring competition.
The former NWA World Heavweight Champion appeared on Niko Knows Best, where he addressed the speculation by stating:
“I guess because of the discussions about a different role, immediately it sort of jumps the conversation to, ‘Oh, he’s not wrestling anymore, he’s retiring, that’s it, is he done wrestling?’ And I’m going like, ‘Hold on, I’m 36 years old, guys.’
I think sometimes I get put in the generation ahead of me in terms of age. I’m 36, I’m very much in my prime. I sort of go, ‘Wait a minute, where does all this discussion about being done wrestling come from?’ Everyone just needs to chill.”
After finishing up with IMPACT Wrestling in July, PWInsider had reported that Aldis was working as a producer with WWE on a trial basis earlier this month…but responding to a question on this, Aldis would “neither confirm nor deny” any speculation of signing with the company.
