A new report from PWInsider has revealed that Scott D’Amore attempted to purchase TNA Wrestling from its parent company prior to his contract termination.
The offer was said to be significant, backed by a letter with a major financial institution, but Anthem ultimately decided not to accept.
The report further states that Anthem has been seeking to better integrate the wrestling promotion under its entertainment wing, including cross-promotion with other AXS TV programming, for “more opportunities for the brand to maximize money on each side.”
The firing of D’Amore and subsequent hiring of Anthony Cicione have not led to any further changes in creative or exits from TNA, as of time of writing.
