WWE’s Seth Rollins, who considers himself a die-hard Chicago Bears fan, confirmed with Front Office Sports that will be a guest host on the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football March 24-26.
“I love hearing myself talk and I love football. It’s something that I’ve always kind of been interested in, especially in the past few years. I’ve gone down to the Super Bowl and done Radio Row. I found myself guest spots on all these shows kind of talking about football, talking about the Chicago Bears. And I’ve really enjoyed it. I enjoyed meeting the people. I’ve enjoyed the process.”
Rollins has appeared several time the past couple of years on segments of Good Morning Football, but not the full show, thus developing a friendship with the show’s co-host Kyle Brandt, who is also a big fan of the Chicago Bears and WWE.
“Kyle and I probably admired each other from afar for a while and then the opportunity came up to go on Good Morning Football, talk football, and promote [WWE] at some point in the past few years,” Rollins said. “And we got to kind of meet and hang out and get to know each other a little bit and talk Bears and talk wrestling. And he’s got the energy that WWE brings the table, right? He’s already there with it … And I think that him wanting me on the show and then being there and having a rapport with him immediately helped my comfortability.”
Rollins says WWE is fully supportive of him hosting a Bears podcast, which is something he has talked about.
It is expected that Rollins will be in a triple-threat match against Roman Reigns and CM Punk at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. Rollins has been in a feud with Punk. He was speared by a returning Reigns on the March 10 episode of Raw. Rollins had taken out Reigns with a stomp on the steel steps at the Royal Rumble. As it is unclear where this match would be place on the card, Rollins also told Front Office Sports he is not worried about where he is positioned on the WrestleMania lineup
“I don’t think it’s terribly important where it sits on the card. Because to be honest with you, you just look at the names in that match and it’s a main event. It doesn’t really matter where it sits.”
Rollins will be appearing on this Friday’s SmackDown, which takes place in Bolonga, Italy.
