Lilian Garcia posted to Instagram that after Friday’s WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain she is done as the company’s full-time ring announcer for the ‘blue brand.’
Garcia did say however, that she is not done with WWE and will be the ring announcer for Saturday Night’s Main Event specials on NBC and Peacock, singing at special events and that she is currently working on other show ideas with WWE.
“BREAKING NEWS Just finished announcing SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain, and it was absolutely incredible! Gracias por todo el amor España! But now I have some news—this was my last show as the full-time SmackDown announcer. A new era is upon us, but I will still be with the company as I will be announcing for all Saturday Night’s Main Event shows, singing at certain special events, and currently working on other show ideas with WWE! WWE is my home, so stay tuned as a new chapter begins. I invite all of you to continue this journey with me as we share it together! Bottom line, thank you, and I love you dearly!”
Last October Garcia returned to WWE full-time after ring announcer Samantha Irvin revealed she was leaving the company after the October 21, 2024 episode of Raw. In January, WWE then named Garcia as the ring announcer for SmackDown, when the show debuted its new three-hour format.
Garcia first made her debut with WWE during the attitude era in August of 1999, as the ring announcer Raw. She then left the company for brief period in 2009 to focus on a career in music. She returned in 2011, but then had to leave the company again in 2016 to take of her ill father who passed away in December of that same year.
At the time of this writing, there is no word on who will replace Garcia on SmackDown going forward.
