Report: Settlement reached in civil case against WWE Hall of Famer

According to a new report by PWInsider on Wednesday a settlement has been reached in the civil case as it pertains to WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch, her former fiance’ James Pente and Ultimate Motor Cars, LLC in relation to the deadly crash on March 25, 2022 in Ormond Beach, Florida, killing 75-year old Julian Lassiter.

The report also notes the trial, which had been initially been scheduled to begin on March 25, 2025 has been canceled by Judge Mary G. Jolley.  Furthermore, it was said that Jolley ordered the case to be closed within the next 30 days once all the documentation on the settlement has been filed.

The lawsuit was seeking in “excess” of $30,000 in damages, states the following:

  • “Upon information and belief, on or about March 25, 2022, Defendant SYTCH was intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle southbound on N. Yonge Street, at or near the intersection of W. Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach, Volusia County, Florida. 
  • Defendant SYTCH operated the motor vehicle. 
  • On or about March 25, 2022, Julian L. Lasseter was also operating a motor vehicle southbound on N. Yonge Street, at or near the intersection of W. Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach, Volusia County, Florida. 
  • At the time and place referenced in paragraphs 6 and 8 above, Defendant SYTCH negligently operated or maintained her motor vehicle so that it collided with the rear end of Julian L. Lasseter’s motor vehicle, causing severe and incapacitating injuries to Mr. Lasseter. These injuries resulted in his death on March 25, 2022.”

The lawsuit alleged negligence on the part of Sytch and the Lasseter family had sustained medical and funeral expenses due to Sytch’s actions. In addition, the lawsuit also alleged that Lasseter’s adult daughter had “has suffered and will suffer into the future, the loss of her father’s companionship, instruction, guidance, and mental pain and suffering as a result of her father’s death.”

Sytch was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the deadly crash. At the time of the crash, Sytch’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

Back in November 27, 2023 Sytch was sentenced in a Florida court to 17 years, plus another 8 years of probation. She is currently serving her sentence at Lowell Correctional Institution.
