According to a report from Fightful Select, sources at AEW have indicated that Tony Khan and others within the company were said to have been pleased with the viewership for the Grand Slam Australia special that aired on TNT and Max last Saturday.
It was added that AEW and Khan were also pleased with the strong lead-in from the NBA’s All-Star Saturday Night and the positive momentum heading into the show. Furthermore, it was said that sources from the Warner Bros. Discovery side suggested they could also see similar opportunities for strong lead-in programming which could be a mutual benefit for the current media rights partnership. Khan has also been a strong advocate having the NBA All-Star Weekend as a lead-in for Collision.
As reported earlier, the AEW Grand Slam Australia special on TNT, drew 502,000 viewers and a 0.21 rating, with the Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega vs. Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita match seeing 1 million people tune in.
