Hulk Hogan and his Real American Beer being sued by woman injured during event

According to a report from FOX 8 in Cleveland, Ohio, an Akron woman is suing WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan and his Real American Beer company after she had been hit in the head with a sealed can of beer during a promotional held at Thirsty Cowboys back on August 19, 2024.

“It’s unconscionable to think that you’re going to go to a bar to see a celebrity and end up being pelted with it with a can of beer,” Attorney Eric Tayfel said, in a statement made to FOX 8. He is representing Michelle Harlukowicz who attended the event and was hit in the head by the sealed can of beer.

FOX 8 notes the lawsuit was filed this past Monday, alleging negligence causing injury after the beer can was thrown an estimated 50 feet, striking Harlukowicz on her forehead along her hairline.

“She had an open wound to her forehead,” Tayfel said. “It was pretty big. She ended up needing a number of stitches to her head, and she’s going to have some permanent scarring from that.”

The lawsuit states that Hogan and other unnamed promoters were hyping up the crowd to promote the beer and tossing free cans to people in the crowd. Harlukowicz was standing near the back wall towards the dance floor when the beer can hit her. According to her lawyer, she never saw the can coming at her and did not have a nor chance to avoid it.

Photos of Harlukowicz’s injury shows a can shaped wound on her forehead which required close to 10 stitches. Medina Township Police were called and responded to the incident but did not file charges because officers could not determine who threw the beer.

The lawsuit alleges that it was either Hogan or one of the other promoters working that night who threw the sealed can of beer. Thirsty Cowboys, and its owner Aaron Lind are also listed in the lawsuit. The plaintiff’s say the venue that booked the promoters are responsible for the security of its guests..

Harlukowicz is seeking damages for her medical expenses, along with pain and suffering and emotional distress.

FOX 8’s Tino Bovenzi reached out to both Real American Beer and Thirsty Cowboys but at the time the report was published, neither responded.
