As first reported by PWInsider and then confirmed by Fightful Select, WWE has released Hall of Famer Paul Ellering and the Authors of Pain (AOP) – Akam and Rezar on Friday evening.
This is the second time that AOP has been released from WWE. They were first released from the company back on September 4, 2020 and then returned on the January 4, 2024 New Year’s Revolution episode of SmackDown. On that episode AOP became part of the New Testament stable with Karrion Kross, along with Ellering also returning as the team’s manager.
Authors of Pain are former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions.
