More on the reason Alexa Bliss was pulled from her return to WWE

There are more details regarding Alexa Bliss and her status with WWE. We had previously reported that plans for Bliss are currently “off the table,” even with this year’s Royal Rumble which is on February 1.

PWInsider Elite and F4WOnline have both provided updates.

According to PWInsider Elite, Bliss was expected to surprise return to WWE on the January 13 episode of Raw. However, it is being said that Bliss’ representatives wanted to negotiate a new contract “with enhanced perks” vs. continuing under the extension of her existing deal of which she made reference during an interview back in May 2023.

PWInsider Elite’s report also notes that WWE reportedly was not interested in bringing her back on a new contract and wanted her to return to the company under her existing deal that had time added to it. PWInsider added neither Bliss nor WWE would budge on what each wanted, thus resulting in Bliss’ planned surprise return being pulled.

The report concluded by further noting both sides are at a standstill, leaving Bliss out of any future creative plans with WWE. She was reportedly expected to be part of The Wyatt Sicks faction. However, with the transfer window storyline, it was announced on the January 13 episode of Raw, the faction was moved to SmackDown and still have yet to appear on the show.

During Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported Bliss and WWE were trying to work out a new contract, but Bliss and her representatives and WWE had yet to come an agreement on new terms.

Bliss, 33, last appeared for WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble, where she was unsuccessful in re-capturing the then-Raw Women’s Championship from then champion Bianca Belair.

Bliss (who is credited under her real name of Lexi Cabrera) is part of the English Dub cast for the Netflix Anime series Sakamoto Days, playing the role of Obiguro.

In November 2023 She and her husband, singer Ryan Cabrera, welcomed a baby girl.
